Could you be more specific what look you are referring to?

The Walther PPK is a compact pistol. Are you looking for compact pistols?

>>30492159
You're not that specific in your original post.

>>30492162
Makarov was based on the walther. Except it's simpler. Similar cartridge too.
>>
>>30492159
I shit post because your question doesn't make sense. It's a compact pistol, in .380 for cheep, that vaugely looks like a ppk
It has a heavy trigger and gritty slide (at least the one I own does)
Get a used Barretta 84 instead
>>
>>30492197
>>30492205

Obviously referring to the slick "PPK" look versus the boxy Glock look.
>>
>>30492230
Oh.
Uh. That's aesthetic only. Doesn't really effect how the gun operates.

You know?

OP means the slick/wedge/angled trigger guard of the PPK.

the whitney wolverine, and to some extent the ruger lc9 may be of interest to you OP.

The 9mm version.
>>
>>
>>30492483

Thanks!
>>
>>30491964

The Walther PPK and its Bersa counterparts are chambered in .380 only, and are blowback-operated. 9mm and other, more larger rounds are too powerful to be used with this operating system. As such, you won't find PPKs made in larger versions--the only thing close would be the Makarov, which is also considered underpowered by many.
>>
>>30492584

HiPoint is blowback tho

blowback, based on the PPK.
9mm makarov is the largest round that can practically be used in a blowback design, 9mm luger has too much recoil. 9mm makarov is sufficient with modern defensive ammo, though.

Polish P64 is a ppk clone.
>>
>>30492661
Yes, also 40 and 45, and has an enormous slide as a result.
Direct blowback requires significant slide mass.
>>
>>30492661
it's also a brick if you didn't notice the size difference
>>
>>30492584
Yea, OP i discovered this when i was first getting into guns, i thought it would be perfect to have a ppk in 9mm, then i realised calibers were a meme and bullets being fired is the real truth

caliber doesn't matter, its only if a bullet is fired that matters

centerfire over rimfire
>>
>>30493391

So you're actually good with .380? But the capacity is so shit compared to 9mm.
>>
>>30493424
Capacity is good enough, 999 times out of 1000 you'll never shoot your gun, and the times you do, it's rare to have to fire more than 2 or 3 shots.

There's a reason people comfortably carry five shot snubs.

Also modern defensive loads can make .380 a pretty decent performer, pic related.

there are no successful 9mm Para blowback designs
9x19 is too powerful, the 9x18 Makarov is the hottest blowback cartridge to be successful

I think what OP means is low profile slides where the barrel is surrounded by the recoil spring, instead of having the recoil spring on a separate guide rod below the barrel?

There are a lot of older pistols chambered for .380 and .32 that use this kind of design. The FN 1910 is a classic, but there are many others, like the Remington Model 51. Modern-day Remington attempted to update this design to shoot 9x19 with the newer "R51," but the result was a gun that's not very reliable. In theory, it should work, since the action is a locked breech design, and the Model 51 was a very reliable, successful pistol in its time.
>>
>>30499719
That's a very good question. The answer lies in the way that modern semi-auto pistols lock up, and how they unlock when firing. With a Browning tilting barrel locked breech design, such as in a 1911, Hi Power, Glock, and almost any other modern 9mm pistol, when a round is fired, both the barrel and slide begin moving back. Then, as the barrel reaches the locking block or pin, it stops moving (transferring the recoil from its own mass into the frame, and then into your hand at this point). The slide continues moving backward, and the recoil spring slows it down to some extent, but eventually the slide impacts the frame at the rear of its movement and transfers the rest of the recoil impulse into the frame and your hand. Other designs do the same thing in slightly different ways. The HK USP adds a buffer spring on the guide rod, in addition to having a tilting barrel, to further slow down the slide before it impacts the frame. The key is in delaying how the recoil impulse is distributed in time, which makes all the difference in felt recoil.

Contrast that with a straight blowback design, such as that found on the PPK, where the breech is kept locked up during ignition by the tension of the recoil spring alone. When the round is fired, ALL of the recoil goes back into the slide all at once, which impacts the frame, and transfers the recoil impulse into your hand with all of its force at once, resulting in a much sharper perceived recoil than other designs.

The look itself is modeled after the Walther PPK

If you want it in 9mm, SCCY makes a decent gun that goes for about $300

I think your full of shit because your looking for a blowback that doesn't have a guide rod. if you just want a german specific brand just say you're a fucking shill
