considering it was built in 1964 and could go mach 3+, I think it gets a pass.
>>30478574
MiG-25 was built in 1964, could go Mach 3, was in full serial production and didn't have almost 40% crash rate.

Geological records show that the earth has been in a perpetual cooling and warming cycle. Considering the depositional patterns of sediments on shorelines, we might just be mistaking natural global temperature changes for man-made ones.
Sandy layer = sea level was lower (low temps)
Mud or clay layer = sea level was higher (high temps)
A prime example of this is on the Calvert Cliffs in Maryland, where you can clearly see the different layers of sediments.

Did I mention it's ugly, blocky, and heavy looking, because it looks like an ergonomic nightmare. How the hell do you even disassemble it for cleaning? Why does it look so long for a bullpup?
>Listen guys, it's been a long day in the office. Why don't we just go with a big heavy long block for a design and WAIT FOR IT!!!! hey guys we forgot a surpressor!?
>>30484051
even if that was true, it still isn't an argument for not replacing US coal and natural gas power plants entirely with cheap, clean, and safe nuclear energy. Climate change and pollution are two different things. Global temperatures increasing has nothing to do with byproducts from coal mining making everything they come in contact with an instant superfund site.

It's like asking how deep does a submarine go; You don't know until you've gone there. The SR-71 was never flown to breaking point but the maximum speed of it is probably not much higher than what it was rated as.
>>30484207
Well, it isn't an argument for not replacing coal and natural gas, but it eliminates the biggest reason to change them. It's simply not a good idea to mandate at a govt level that all coal and gas should be replaced by nuclear energy by 20xx. You want to charge extra on top of how expensive power already is?
This is exactly why most liberal arguments fall flat on their face; they see all the benefits of doing x but never see the costs and risks associated with it.
>>30484686

How much do you think it'll cost to replace all those power plants with very expensive, highly regulated nuclear power plants? Who the fuck do you think is going to pay for these costs?
Ever consider the flow on effects of very expensive power? Not only are you going to be shitting over some very vital coal and gas industries already, creating massive unemployment (which can't be soaked up by nuclear industries, before you even try that) but you'll also raise the bottom line for companies which use a lot of power to do their business. Great, you've fucked americas industry even further, fucktard.
This process needs to happen over a long time scale, spanning decades, which is good because that's exactly what's happening already.

Yes, I'm certain all those government subsidies that the government gives to their lobbyist friends in order to make "green jobs" are going to save the planet any day now.
I mean its not like a political party would drive energy companies out of business so that it could create loyal new donors by subsidizing new energy companies to replace them?
It does seem odd though that the politician's solutions to save the planet always seem to involve spending money or subsidizing some new project rather than conserving forest land or stopping deforestation....although I suppose there's no profit to be had in real environmentalism now is there?

Not worth the cost of maintaining them for the incredibly niche role they serve (90% of what they do can be done by attack helicopters and strike a/c). We should just replace them with Super Tucanos or something, since that would be cheaper and neither platform would be survivable in a real war.

Global warming isn't so much a thing as climate change, deforestation, and pollution, all of which will negatively effect humans. Global warming and climate change may fuck us over in the future, but we don't know for sure, and a lot of the data coming out has shown little change in temperatures, and scientists keep fucking up their predictions.
It's a leap to go from saying humans aren't causing mass global warming to saying we aren't effecting our environment at all though. We most certainly are, and we aren't really sure what the implications will be.
With that all being said, I totally agree with you about government attempting to intervene in the economy. It will not work. Period. The private sector is always the driver of innovation and fundamental change. Government sucks ass at trying to change the markets.

If we stuck to natural gas (because why just burn it as a byproduct of drilling for oil) and nuclear we'd be in a much better place regarding energy security. Coal is a 3rd world tier source of energy in the 21st century. let the chinese and indians poison thier air, water, and soil like savages but not in our own backyards.

What makes it more stable?
I thought having a bipod attached to a barrel would lower the accuracy of the weapon rather than on a forearm that freefloats the barrel.
I know it's probably not like that big of a deal every weapon I've fired with a bipod hits what I was aiming at, I'm not like a trick shot or anything I've missed lots of shots.
Most guns arn't really modular they just get rails put on everywhere there's room. I mean you remember that longslide 1911 from terminator 2? Gigantic red dot replaces iron sights on top of slide going entire length of the weapon like that really wasn't modular but a lot of accessories hanging off wherever you can get them tends to be considered modular.
