it is. the X95 is a little better balanced and has a more comfortable grip, but there's a 15 year gap between the two. the front ejection is amazing and the trigger is better on the F2000

Can't shoot the 9x19 in the 9x21 since they both headspace on the casemouth. The 9x19 would literally slide too far forward for the firing pin to ht the primer.

I bought it already converted by HDPS before he clamed up and stopped responding to emails. I have shot unconverted usc's before. They definitely shoot tons better as umps. The gun does not like the 16in barrel. Lmk if you have any other questions, here is a better pic. I would recommend getting one that has already been converted as the wait times on builds are pretty long because only two or three guys are doing them atm. Rumor is they are going to start making them in the states. But I don't know if that is true or bs.

How do you like the FS2000 compared to the X95? I've been on the fence for years now between picking up an FS2000 or AUG (gotta get an StG-77 clone to go with my StG-58 build). I've only put a few mags through one once and I enjoyed it considerably more than my buddy's Tavor.

I now realize how many of my guns I've actually color-filled. I regret nothing.

I love my MPX. Easily my favorite gun. 2.5k+ rounds without a clening. Slip 2000 EWL keeps it going.

I had one malfunction which was ammunition related. The gas system shut the gun down when it got a squib. I would have blown it up had it been a blow back like the Scorpion or a 9mm AR. People bitch about how gas operated is not needed for a sub gun but here it saved it.

Maxtech ammo is shit. Stay away from it. It caused damn near every 9mm of mine to malfunction as well as my co-worker's guns.

literally yolo buy what you think is the best choice. you will always want a better pistol, you will always harshly criticize your first pistol, but it will never stop being your first pistol. and when you're 5 pistols deep, you'll look back to your range whore of a first pistol for guidance on anything cheaper or more expensive.

unless it's a hi-point or worse, then you should kill yourself, or you may not if it jams and explodes leaving you in a vegetative state, forever in a purgatory of shame, silently regretting your first pistol purchase, fully conscious of ONLY for horrible mistake and the shame it brought about, while unable to move or speak.

FS2000 is really good, but I was honestly very very surprised with the x95's ergos. F2000 has a better trigger, front eject, and style going for it and it absorbs recoil a little better, but X95 is so well balanced that it's uncanny. the AR style mag release works well, too and the magwell is easy to get to.
in terms of breakdown and cleaning, I like to be able to get to the chamber and the bolt as easily as possible. F2000 wins that because the breakdown is basically pulling the chamber away from the bolt, then sliding the bolt out of the reciever. It's harder on X95 because to get easy access to the chamber you need the armorers tool to remove the barrel.

interesting. did you have any reservations about some of the features (or more accurately, lack of features) on the fs?
things like no LRBHO, tiny chamber viewing, or using only aluminum mags?
i really want to like the fs2000 but these little nipick things make me really reconsider if i'd be happy with it.
for $2k, i have to be completely happy
>>
>>30473426
I'm guessing not.
>>
>>30473631
Shit, you're tempting me to change my mind. I've been saving up for an MCX for a little while but I think I might try to track down an FS2000 instead. I've always wanted one.
>>
>>30473549
Why thank you!

>18" Ithaca
Can't see it in the picture, unfortunately, but it's got the rifle-type sights. I fucking love the thing.

>A2 Build
I actually bought this rifle from a LGS a couple years ago for $500, right around the time when everything was still high in price and such. I was told that the guy who built it had cracked a part of the lower (a part of the trigger guard; does not affect function) and that's why it was so low. As it turns out, it's got a Colt Heavy Barrel and Colt BCG. Accurate as hell and very reliable. Probably my best purchase thus far.

>Berthier
I hate that it was sporterized. But I bought it anyway because it fascinated me at the time due to the fact that it was so light. The LGS I bought it from labeled it as a Carcano in 6.5, and I got it for a little over $100.

I was just shooting my 870 with rifle sights today. It puts slugs exactly where you want at 25 yards. Such a fun gun. Hope to find an Ithaca for sale that isn't a 30" deer/gooseslayer fudd musket someday.
>>
>>30473673
Nope, not really
I believe you can remove the dust wipes if you're so inclined or at least trim them down to accept PMAGs but stanag mags are okay for me since I can't put my pmag 40's on my plate carrier anyway
as for the bolt hold-open or lack thereof, it's offset for me by the fact that it has the up-to-lock charging handle I can HK slap into battery
chamber-checks on a bullpup are never as ergonomic as an AR for me, so the window doesn't bother me. as a side note, it's cool to watch the bolt eject into the switch and pop it into the ejection tube
>>30473830
I was in the same position looking at other things and I'd given up, but one popped up and I had to get it. As far as I'm concerned since the F2000's been discontinued, whatever else I want will still be around next paycheck
>>
>>30473899
There's a few going for $2.8k unfired on Gunbroker with the integrated scope (because when you're buying the yachtgun you need to go full tuna)
It's a ridiculous price when you consider that a $3000 AR would be a BETTER gun, but it's not dissuading me that much...
>>
>>30473883
I had a newer 870 and loved it. Great guns, especially older ones like yours.

Fudd muskets can be fun (my 16 gauge Ithaca is a 28 inch), but nothing beats a nice 18" or 20" for me.
I live in Florida, so we can have backyard ranges here. At my grandparent's place, we've got a good range set up with a maximum of about 100 yards of distance.
In front of our backstop we have STOP signs layered against one-another. Nothing beats the sound of slugs and buckshot hitting those fucking signs.
>>
>>30473930
Got mine used for 2200, and I'm convinced I overpaid but I don't really care. I think it's reasonable to assume they were all safe queens save a few that got beat up.
the real joke is on people who bought SCARs for $2400+ while it's just a production rifle with no cool features beyond zero dark thirty aesthetics
You can get the scope cowling for about $25 new from a parts website, btw

It really is a pain in the ass. I always end up with bruises on my fingers where the trigger guard rests, the web of my hand gets torn up every once in a while, and I can't comfortable get my pinky on the "correct" side of the magazine hook thing

Nice to know I'm recognized while not being a tripfag. And the BHP might get blued soon... finish seems to be chipping off.
>>
>>30474122
That settles it for me then. I wouldn't have any use for one besides just being a fun shooter, since they don't carry any historic interest (for me at least).
I'll wait and get a normal Mak instead.

I gotta agree though, love seeing the New Vegas combo.
I have plans to build a Survivalist's Rifle dissipator pseudo-clone (probably not with an A1 carry handle upper because I cannot into building yet, and nobody sells an A1 Dissipator complete upper).

I'd be lying if I said your Service Rifle build did not inspire me to lay out the plans for my own build.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't buy the furniture JUST so I could have the combo.

Honestly, from what I hear building isn't too bad. I traded a VZ-2008 package for that A1 clone build some Vietnam vet built, so I couldn't give you specifics.

Even if you buy all the parts and ask a gunsmith to put the upper together, it'll probably be cheaper than waiting for a pre-built.
>>
>>30474256
True, definitely something to consider. More so than the Service Rifle, I had a ball with the Survivalist's Rifle in NV. Randall Clark's story is probably my favorite piece of Fallout lore, and I assume that making a clone of his rifle will be totally fucking worth it in the end for me.

>>
So friends, I'm relatively new to guns despite being from the south (NC), and the last time I fired a gun was in High School circa 2012(?) when we shot skeets during our firearms safety course. Anyways, I'm a piece of shit NEET that's currently looking for a job, and once I get a stable income flowing I would like to purchase some guns of my own. I'm going to be reading through the sticky and I was wondering if there was any more information that would be worthwhile to read that's not included in the sticky.

Also the first guns I would like to purchase would be the four that I find most aesthetically pleasing (in no particular order) despite my ignorance on specific models and whatnot: a Mosin Nagant, a Lee-Einfield rifle, a Saiga-308, and a PGM Hecate II or Steyr HS .50. Would I be able to obtain any of these in the United States legally, and if so, how many arms and legs would these cost me?

This is not a shitpost, and I am sorry if I offended anyone somehow. I can also delete this and make it into a thread if you want or post it in the QTDDTOT, but I've had both of these threads open for hours and this one is the only one that's had replies and this is at least a bit on topic, as I would like to create my own arsenal.

Between the BUHRETTA 92 and the 1911, which do you guys prefer? I'm on the fence between the two.

A 1911 is just all around a great looking and great feeling pistol and would be my first .45 gun, whereas I've already got a half dozen pistols in 9mm but I'm wanting a Beretta 92 to share mags with my Cx4 and because it's really comfy, I've already got 20 something mags because of my Cx4, and the rotating barrel system is really neat.

That's a tough situation. If you already have a fuck-ton of 9mm pistols than I'd almost lean towards getting a 1911. You can always put aside a little cash after that and keep an eye out for good deals on Beretta 92s on GunBroker and the like.

It's a hard choice. My initial choice was the Beretta because I like the cheaper ammo and higher capacity, it also fits my hand quite well. The more I think about it the more difficult the decision gets. I think I shoot the 1911 better than the Beretta.

But again, truly, I think it might be worth all the trouble to have it be as authentic as possible. I'd have a one-of-a-kind build until someone else went through the same trouble. I could be happy about that.

does no one there know how to weld good?
i understand it needs to be low profile but the undercut is usually due to inexperience
even on a weld that small

A daewoo. Neat.

Too bad you have that ass-ugly stock on it though. Don't the make stock/grip combos that look more like the pre-ban configuration?

Recently bought the Archangel mosin off of some guy for $120 because it "never worked". Turns out the guy never cleaned the thing and because of his laziness I got a cheap mosin. Thank you lazy people.

>>
>>30489308
Not the guy you are replying to but I have one of the pw87s. They are ok with a little work. You really have to punch the leaver out for it to cycle. Definitely not a HD shotgun, plus you can only use "Lead Shot" in it.

Sure thing man, anything in particular interest you photo wise?

It was a police issued luger, holster marks indicate being issues to a officer in the "Koln District"

Shes a 1913 with a few 42 replacement parts. Cool thing was it had the broken 1913 parts that matched with it when i bought it.

Saw this while taking a glorious freedom bath for July 4th. So why not have the old lady bring it to me!

I'll check often as I can. May even throw in a pic of this luger on a 5"8 102lb goddess. You know.... In the spirit of freedom and stuff.
