Got this sling the other day. Strike Industries S3 sling. Operates like a clone of the Proctor Sling. Smaller loops it seems, and has the addition of the buckles.

nah, unfortunately the slings d-ring and buckle attached to the ends of the sling wont slide though the sling slots in the butt. Too thick.
Sort of a flaw in the design i guess. there is no way to separate any part of the thin strap portion of the sling from the buckle / loop hardware parts.
the sling does separate or "break down" into three separate pieces which gives multiple easy options for quick release removing the rifle from your body.
but each of the three pieces has permanently sewn on hardware points that prevent sliding anything through those sling slots on the butt stock.
Anyone have any experience with HM Defense? I was looking at one of their complete uppers, seems to be a reasonable price.

Ok what I would recommend is look into the Air National Guard. The reason being is that
1. You have something to help pay for college
2. You are learning about the military before becoming an officer. If you don't like it then you only have to do it one weekend a month/ two weeks a year.
Also enlisting and becoming an officer are two totally different things. Enlisting is easy, and commissioning as an officer is very hard.
