No one who read more than a couple of books in his life can answer that question honestly. There's always a bunch. Here's a couple that i really enjoyed - The Road, Metro 2033, Free Fall, Pygmy, Ernest Hemingway's Complete Short Stories, Moby Dick, Sniper on the Eastern Front, A World Made by Hand. There are a lot more, but these came to mind right now.

Hatchet... my fat teacher bought it and specifically gave it to me when i told him his classes were boring as a wee child. Dunno why that book specifically but its what made me like reading about tales of survival and the like.

Fucking Dragonlance man
I just re-read through the Twins trilogy, holy fucking shit does it make me feel things
>>30459117
Guess I'd say this is my favorite, read it a couple times in Iraq and a few times since then.
Picked it up after meeting Col. Robert (Bob) Howard while he was doing a USO tour in Kuwait while we were passing through.
Those SOG guys and the shit they did is crazier than anything hollywood could ever cook up. Perhaps even bollywood.

You can torrent the ebook and download a free ebook reader, that's what I did.
Holy fuck was it worth it.
>>30459604
ya boi dragonlance da shit nuqqa
Whenever our schedules line up right myself and my old highschool D&D group have been playing the new Curse of Strahd adventure (at a meticulously slow pace because we're adults with lives now), and I've been rereading some of my old Ravenloft books and man did I forget how much I loved them.
>>30459618
Damnit drunk, no apologies.
CoDominium series
Falkenberg's adventures and all
Pournelle is gr8
I wish I knew how to read
>>30459632
If I had to pick my favorite book it'd probably be either "When the Lion Feeds" or "The Sound of Thunder" by Wilbur Smith.
>>30459632
Fuckin nice, dude, I haven't played D&D in like, five years, I'ma probably hit it up with my buds when I go back North. Will have to look into Curse of Strahd. Haven't been keeping up at all.
What's Ravenloft about? Not exactly the same type of shit, I imagine?
War and Peace. Armed Joy.
>>30459676
It's an old gothic horror D&D campaign setting that was recently revamped. Some of the old novels that sprung from it are surprisingly good
I collect books as another hobby of mine (mainly old cookbooks) and all my other favorite books are too many to display (like Anthony Bourdain's older writings - you know when he hated everything and wasn't a 100% liberal mouthpiece). So I guess I'll just show what I'm reading right now. Sorry for the bad picture.
That's a Taurus PT111 G2 and a Heritage Rough Rider 22lr.

I may not be on the frontlines in the event of some kind of civil war or rebellion, but I damn sure won't sit idly by.
A personal favorite

>>30459742
oh my god the resident evil books... brings back memories. Still have them all too.
I'll post some of my book/gun pics.
But first, a knife fighting book. I picked it up at a flea market. It's....strange.

Those books actually inspired me to write a few Resident Evil fanfics when I was a young teen. I went back and read them all a couple years ago. Really fucking embarrassing, haha.
Pic definitely related, but I have a straight dust cover frame on the Samurai Edge now.
Blindsight by peter watts
not exactly /k/ but its awesome if you like hard sci fi. it's also free online
Roadside Picnic was really good too
the Hatchet series was a childhood favorite, pretty sure it literally changed me.
One Soldier's War is really good.
Not /k/ related, but anything by R. A. Salvatore is great
On a related note, I picked up pic related from the used book store last time I was there for like $2, but haven't gotten a chance to read it yet.
It's been wayyyy too long since I've actually gotten to read a book, but now that I'm jobless maybe I'll have the time lol

Fuck. I need to reread all that and read for the first time Bourdain. I love his shows.
I'd also suggest for all y'all the McCarthy border trilogy. All The Pretty Horses was my first McCarthy read and that made me love innadesert on my family's land.

As an adult I was always a little embarrassed having read the SD Perry books when I was younger, but without them I would never have gotten into reading, and would be much dumber today.
Dustoff fag here.
I can highly recommend this book for anyone who's interested in medevac or combat medicine in general.
