So The first half of the game is a Pokemon/Princess Marker/relationship management game. Where the way in which you train and socially interact with your harem of gun girls will raise the girl's stats (depending on what training activities you put the girls through and what social choices you make while interacting with them.

That however is only the first half of the game...

It will probably take a lot of work but the way I envision the game it will be divided into two main activities.

1. Training your gungirl harem which would be played using 2D images and sprites. Think Princess Maker, Pokemon, Visual Novel, style interface.

2. Is the action oriented part of the game. Where you wield the gungirls you have raised in Battlefield or Call of Duty style multiplayer gun fights.

Based on what I'm reading on the website, there are enough differences between the game they are making and the vision of the game that I want to make that I think that I could make the game I'm talking about and would be quite a different game to Buki Shoujo.

Like it seems the Buki Shoujo guys just want to make a straight up Visual Novel. Whereas the game I want to make is more of a hybrid of a couple of different genres. Like Battlefield or CS:GO, mashed together with Long Live The Queen, Pokemon, and various H-games.

I wan't a /k/ game that is in the style of GTA mixed with Fallout 3/NV, but in a place where guns are banned, so you have to start off procuring few rounds of ammo, and making single fire zip guns, and slamfire shotguns. Then you would move up in the world of crime, join one of the faction gangs, and these gangs would be able to procure different guns. Russian gang, a gang affiliated with "western" guns, maybe a military offshoot gang.

The game would be online, and there would be other players as well as civilian-NPS's and other NPC's.

I would like death to be permanent, so killing other players in turf wars was very consequential, and players would move up to take the places of leaders of the crime syndicates, high level players characters being killed would be a big deal, and power would shift between factions and control of areas, the more areas they control, the more resources they can assign to different things.

Then there would be the police force, that would be given guns and certain powers over other players, but if they stray too far from their rules they would be expelled from the force and have to make it on their own.

It wouldn't be a shooter, in the sense that shooting much of anything would be very risky, but this would make the game very rewarding because the reward of going into a bank guns blazing after working for a day or two to set everything up, would imo, be very cool and rewarding

Getting shot would also be like in real life. Head shots would be insta-kill, or have a chance of coma/survival. If you get shot during a job, depending on where you get shot, you would have to get medical help. Body armor would be very valuable, but only work like it does in real life. If someone shoots your legs and you're wearing a vest, you still get shot in the leg.

The game would let friends form their own gangs, and have their own property in cities on different servers, i could see some property sold in microtransactions being worth alot of real world money.

The game would be set up with NPC's being these all powerful crimelords or police cheifs, and then allowing players to try and climb the ranks and replace these people with any means they can think of, but if they fuck up they can get hit's put out on them, or have their property attacked by rival gangs.

I haven't played EVE online, but i have read up on it and it would be kindof like that, i read a story where a guy lost a ship that was worth thousands of dollars, similar things would happen in this game.

Well something that a lot of game devs are doing these days while developing games is to create the core game with a core group of characters. Then create extra sections of the game or new characters and sotry and what not and release it as DLC.

I figured that I could set up the basic/core game with maybe 15 to 20 gun girls that you can choose to raise, love, and wield in battle. Then once we've got the core game play and the initial 20 girls in a finished and well polished state we can start creating new girls based on some of the more exotic small arms out there and either release them for use in the game either one by one or in packs of 10 as DLC (we'll cross that bridge when we come to it).

As for the initial girls that come with the core game I figured that they should be based on some of the more popularly know fire arms. The AK-47, the 1911, the M60 for example.

Right this moment I'm picturing M60-chan a blonde, big sisterly kind of girl, who's really good at cooking and has set of massive set of knockers.

Oh oh, idea! In this game, the larger the ammo capacity a weapon has then the larger the breasts of her girl form will be. Like 1911-chan is always insecure about her small breasts, while all the girls based on crew served machine guns have H-cups at the very least.

It's supposed to be very real, but supplemented with NPC characters, and based heavily on reputation. I dont like the idea of people just hopping into the game and fucking around and then dieing and creating a new character, maybe charge 2.99 per character creation to try and prevent this. It would be tough to work out alot of the finer details, like what to do when players were offline, if they owned property could people break in while they are offline.

It could be done like joining the military, you join, and play and rank up, and if you go down in combat you die and have to start from the beginning. Players with higher status would be able to order airstrikes and purchase weapons for their factions, while grunts would fight it out over different bases.

In this game world the anti-gun lobby are really just all just extreme DFC and loli fetishists who are obsessed with the idea of ensuring that all "guns' everywhere in the world have really small "cartridge capacity". Though if anyone ever suggests that they're running around doing this just because they're horny they get all defense and insist they're just doing all this to "make the world a safer place"

I figured I'd just do what the devs and owners of Adult Visual Novels do when they want to sell a game like Nekopara or Princess Evangile on Steam. I just make an All Ages version of the game, put that up for sale on Steam or any other sites that frown upon Adult rated games. Then I post on the forums that you can head over to the game's website where you can download the free patch that lets you play the game in the regular Adult mode.

Actual video game programmer here. Worked eith quite a few major companies, such as Bethesda, Id, epic, EA (that was hell), just to name a few.

Firstly, your idea is probably shit. It's either something that requires a level of innovation most programmers (because we are lazy fucks) don't want to give, employs game mechanics that you think would be awesome, but in reality suck, it's not really much of a game, and your more focused on the story aspect (this is what makes shit games. If your first little "introduction paragraph" doesn't have gameplay as the primary focus, it's going to be shit, because you are not nearly as good a story teller as you think), or it really isn't that special, you just think it is.

Secondly, making video games is not easy. It takes alot of time, dedication, a whole lot of knowledge of a myriad of subjects and most importantly: passion. Very few people have all these in one package.

Thirdly, you don't fully realize how many different things go into making a game. This is a fucking garuntee. It's not just programming. Not just modelers. It's a whole bunch of jobs and people. There's a reason that even small projects with very small teams can take forever.

All that said, what's your "brilliant concept" OP?

Yeah I know making a game takes a quite a lot of work. As in, I'll probably be working on this for a number of years and probably wont see any money from it, quite a lot of work.

However my financial situation is stable enough that I can afford spending the next few years both working on a video game, as well as learning how to make video games as a job. Even if I never find anyone interested in helping and I have to spend years just figuring out how to code, and build computer models myself I'm willing to put the effort into building a finished product.

I didn't really expect to find anyone who would be both interested and knew how to code/draw, but whenever I get an idea for a creative venture I need to write it down right then otherwise I forget it. I happened to be on /k/ at the time (I might also have been high but that's not all that important really) and thought it would be fun (for both myself and my fellow /k/ommandos to make a thread about it, maybe bounce some ideas around. The thread has been a success in that reguard by the way. I've gotten an number of good story ideas from all of ya'll so thank you.

Anyway, so you want me to describe the gameplay? Alright then.

When you get right down to it its simple enough. What are the three things that /k/ (and as it so happens gamers) love more than anything?

1. Guns & Shooting things with guns.

2. Sexy/Moe females.

3. Collecting shit.

Mix these three things together and you have my game idea: A game where the player collects Gun-Dames (Best Working Title Evar), sentient guns who can take the form of beautiful girls and (in the tradition of Pokemon) who seek out humans masters who will care for them, train them to become stronger, and who will then wield them in battle against other Gun-Dame trainers for glory and profit!

Then genre is what I call 'medical punk,' a mix of bio-punk and industrial elements, with the dystopic themes of cyber punk. You're a space marine, for example, but rather than having high tech super soldier suit that makes you stronger and faster, the suit instead keeps you alive (way to many games explain why you can run around and aim perfectly, but gloss over the ability to shrug off getting shot by simply standing on a white lunch box or wiping the spaghetti sauce off their screen).

It keeps you alive no matter what, keeps you in optima fighting condition and perfect performance. you never get tired or short of breath. you never have to stop to piss or eat or drink. and when you have taken a too much trauma to be salvaged, the suit keeps you just alive enough to keep shooting until you collapse in a pile of brass and blood

rather than the typical power fantassy that so many shooters and scifi games try to instill, i want this to be a weakness simulator, showing how bleak and hopeless an interstellar interspecies war would realistically play out.

the guns and technology, while fictional, would be as realistically researched and shown as possible

Well you can make that kind of game if you want but in the game I'm picturing in my head I want to make as happy, cozy, comfy, and wishfulfilling as possible.

Sorry if that isn't your bag but I've been stuck at the bottom of a black hole of anxiety/depression for the last 6 years, I'm finally starting to climb out of said pit, and if I devote myself to working on any long term projects, like working on this game I'm planning, then that project is going to be a happy wish fulfillment sort of a deal.

A'hem, but anyway yes, I plan to make this game's story as bright and happy as Girls Und Panzer, as cozy and comfy as Upotte!, and as sexy, harem-y, and wishfullie as Tenchi Muyo GXP!

I'm also pretty sure that this is going to be an H-game too by the way. There will be an All Ages version of course so I can sell this game on Steam, or any other sites that aren't comportable with adult content. However I plan on posting an "Unofficial Patch" maybe in the game website's forum or something, that will allow players to access the "adult version" of the game.

One thing that I insist be a core game play mechanic is being able to date and have sex with any and all of the Gun-Dames in your collection while you are playing the social part of the game, in order to fully level them up.

I want to make sure that the only way you can have the strongest guns and the best equipment in the battle arena is to make sure you have a happy and healthy adult relationship with each of those guns/pieces of equipment, in the social/training phase of the game.

For example, say in the game you have an M14 rifle like pic related as part of your gun collection. If you want that M14 rifle to perform properly during the Battlefield-esqe multiplayer part of the game (for it not to Jam over and over again say), you need to make sure that during the single player dating/training your Gun-Dame part of the game, you have to make sure that you have a healthy and loving relationship with one another.

So if you fuck up and do something stupid, like forget her birthday or something during the social phase, then there's a likely chance that during your next battle your M14 will malfunction in some way while you are trying to fight. Because the two of you are upset with each other you can't work together at peak officiency on the battlefield if you get what I mean.

The best way to actually get people on board for a project isn't to tell them

No. Put together a rough prototype, show people that your concept works in the first place and isn't broken like Kuntzman's shoulder from the very start and then you'll have a much better chance at getting a team.

Even then there's a very large possibility your project will die anyway.

By prototype, I don't mean a fully functional 3D game and all but something that puts your core gameplay to the test (most likely in 2D for production speed).

In this case it lays out the practical aspects of the waifu simulator side and combat side.

One last point is you're going at this from the wrong direction. I personally love games with a strong narrative. HOWEVER, gameplay comes first. If you don't consider gameplay to be your one and only god, you're doing it wrong and are going to end up with a shit game if you even manage to make it in the first place.

The line between writers and ideas guys is that writers have already done something. They have a dossier full of game design documents, storylines with full dialogue trees from start to finish, a book or two...

Idea guys are the ones who in the heat of inspiration throw stuff on the screen, swallowing pridefully the attention they immediately get, and then they lose all gravitas and guts when it comes to actually working.
