Even in that shitty, dark picture, I can tell that your gun is closer to 1970s or 1980s vintage. Does the serial number start with 245?

Why do people have such a fascination with being able to "adjust" their sights that they are willing to mill large chunks out of the slide?

I want to, but I just can't get myself to put aside the money and get to the gunsmith to get it done. $200 extra dollars for a standard bluing job when it isn't necessary to function....

When I bought it It looked real pretty parkerized though, before it started flaking off
>>
>>30437651
Parkerizing doesn't flake off. It's a chemical treatment to the metal itself. Your gun is covered in paint, looks like Duracoat or some similar product.
>>
>>30437454
>hammer back meme pics
The gun looks better with the hammer back. What about it is a meme?

>China knife
That's a $200 knife fampai

>safety off for dankness
Safety off because the gun isn't loaded and it's a picture

Have you ever seen a detonics 1911? Those have large chunks removed. Buried rear sights have their advantages like not requiring a new front and keeping thr overall profile low. Those missing chunks as you put it, are often just dead space anyway. The advantages of an adjustable sight are obvious, but the ones Browning went with are supposedly meh. Guessing they just wanted to keep a clean look to the gun

Considering how common RMRs are becoming you may have to come to terms with some things. Anyway, have some FM's

Such as???
>>
So, I'm considering getting one of the surplus Mk IIs

Is it worth it to have dovetails machined into the slide for better sights?

And this is exactly why adjustable sights have gotten so popular. You don't actually know how to shoot guns or understand that sights don't need constant little micro-adjustments all the time.
>>
I want one of those old FM Detective models with the short slide

what is that paint that FN put on their High Powers?

i got a jew surplus from Aim. The finish is really rough and I wonder if I should just cerakote.

Originally, it was a paint over parkerized, but I'm convinced that some of these Israeli guns have been spraypainted to be refinished.

How do you like the CZ? I am a little intimidated by CZs being slav-shit
>>
What's a good entry-level Hi-power and do they have the reliability issues that 1911s have?
>>
>>30447021
I've always heard that Hi-Powers are generally reliable little bastards, the old Mk 1s don't like hollow points but Mk 2 and 3 feed them fine

AIMsurplus has surplus Mk 2s for $450
>>
>>30443341
>You don't actually know how to shoot guns or understand that sights don't need constant little micro-adjustments all the time

No fagtron they sure don't need micro adjustments all the time, but some people actually like to tune their sights to certain loads. Some people don't like it if their gun hits a little high and left from the factory. Why the fuck you think people break out an Allen wrench between shots idk but they don't just go wiggling around.

But sure oh wise master, please tell me how it's foolish for anyone to want more than a bead on a 1851. Adjustable sights aren't some recent development or trend and unless you've welded your dovetails and don't own a single optic you can get right the fuck out.

6/10 for reminding me the internet doesn't have quality control
>>
>>30446993
CZs are fine.

>>30447021
I bought an Israeli clone for $300 OTD; for another $100 you can get an actual FN-brand Browning.
>>
>>30446898
the backstrap of the grip is completely bare and smooth steel.

must have spent a lot of time in a sweaty jew's paw, capping Palestinian children.
