Sigfag checking in. Got a serpa holster with my light and have been practicing draws and dry firing. Its wearing my sig in a few places. Is this the coating coming off and revealing the blue or unfinished steel? Do I need to worry about it?

Fuck it a gun thats not broke in and fire a lot is a gun unloved right? Pretty guns are safe queens.

The way the coating is coming off reminds me off books that have a matte finish on them but if you peal off the film it reveals the glossy finish. Thats whatevers under this finish and IDK if I should give a fuck that I'm wearing it off.

Can you use the newer roll pins that come in the spare parts kit on a german p226? I noticed mine may be broken from how it walks out so I want to replace it.

From what I've read, you should replace the pin with the same kind of pin. If you're willing to experiment, though, try putting in a different one! Worst that happens is it snaps in the middle and you push out two halves.

I haven't had any issues with them in either gun with the crit duty. The 938 doesn't like to feed Hornady steel match, which has a similar bullet shape, but a steel case. I had consistent failures with it (luckily only bought two boxes). I've shot a lot more of the duty with no issues.

I'm pretty sure it's because the mag has no more room left for space. Try pressing a fully loaded mag downwards by the first round and see if it budges, if it doesn't, that's probably the case.

I have the same problem with my M&P Shield where seating a fully loaded mag inside the gun when it's closed is a bitch to do but easy if it's down loaded one round.

In my experience, Serpa holsters rape finishes. I've mostly seem them totally mangle the finish on 4th gen Glocks. After a week of carrying a brand new G32 Gen 4 in a Serpa it looked like I dragged both sides of the pistol threw gravel.

Also, in my experience, SIG's nitron finish is pretty shitty and wears easily, so there you go. At least it's not the Legion PVD, which is even worse.

tl;dr shitty holster known for damaging the finish on pistols + shitty finish known for wearing prematurely = lots of wear.

To all the anons who own E2 grips, how do you clean off the dried sweat? When I had the regular plastic grips, I would just scrub it off with water and dry it with a hairdryer no problem.

Fuck idk where to even begin. What caliber? What kinda wardrobe? What kinda weather? 10rd mag limit for commie states? I like the sig single stack 9mm. I think the p225. I personally carry the P230 (P232 is the newer version). But I mean these suggestions are assuming you don't want to just carry a full sized P226/P229 cuz a lot of anons on /k/ do. They walk around with G19s and an extra mag; dont ask me why.
>>
>>30439099
East coast, urban neighborhood areas, never gets too cold unless it's christmas. I've gotta look up the shit for North Carolina on limits.

I'd prefer something not full sized, i'm not worried about some apes coming up on me in a parking lot, just something that'll get the job done for less than $500.

Any of them have relatively flush slides on top? Snag is one of my worries.
9mil is fine since we already have a decent amount of it.

<$500 welp sigs are out of the picture. My experience is limited to Sig and Beretta but a P225 would be real nice for ya. But $500 is pretty cheap You're going to want to dime out at least $600 if you want a Sig. You could go used of gunbroker.com. Glocks in single stack or smaller or whatever dumb subcompact models they have might go for cheap.

>pic related, P225

Or consider getting a compact 1911. They are some of the slimmest pistols around and the single stack 45 is leaner than a double stack 9mm. Plust 45 cuz merica.

>What Sig do you guys recommend for CC?

Traditional DA like the P226, P228, P229 etc.
>P239 9mm

1911 style
>P238 .380
>P938 9mm

Striker fired
>P320 Subcompact

The latter being able to be swapped from a fullsize range gun to a small subcompact for conceal carry.
>>30439183
The P320 is your best bet. You can find subcompacts new for a little under $500 and has an incredibly good trigger for a striker fired gun. It also has three different grip sizes and comes with the medium size so you can either go up or down in size depending on your hands and what you prefer.

>Any of them have relatively flush slides on top? Snag is one of my worries.

The P239 has an anti snag variant with dehorned edges but prepare to spend $800 for one new.
>>
>>30439183
Lots of people very comfortably carry these.
>>
>>30439257
Well if that's the case then money doesn't matter. I was just hoping to keep it cheap.

And elaborate on what about 45 makes it leaner than 9mil? And i'm open to any pistol really, it's just that i've heard real good reliability with Sigs. Thanks for the input so far.

>>30439274
That 239 looks nice from the rear. i'll look the p320 up.
I've got somewhat tiny hands but thanks.

>>30439280

Jw.

All in all, thanks guys. I've just wanted some input by you folks who actually have some experience with cc handguns for a newfag like me. I appreciate the time.

Trust me i'll come back when get my choice figured out to show off like a faggot and i'll quote you boys.
>>
>>30439343
Its not the fact that its a 45 its just how they designed the 1911. I think it has to do with modern pistol frames being designed to be easily manufactured for multiple calibers or something.

No length for that 1911 either its prolly a 3" they sell all kinds of lengths. Like I said the 1911 is just slender, the way the designed it I guess.
>>
>>30439343
Just to give a bit more info on the P239. It's way too big and heavy for what it is (an 8+1 round 9mm) and it is outclassed by the more modern conceal carry oriented handguns like the 12+1 S&W M&P9C and 10+1 Glock 26.

Despite it's shortcomings, it is an amazing shooter that pretty much shits all over every other DA/SA when it comes to the trigger and possibly the sights if you get those X-Rays on it.

I see it how people see 1911's if that makes sense.
>>
