Just sighted it in. I love my Aug. Just got a kydex stock protector on eBay. Going to get a light for it, I want something reliable but not surefire expensive. In boy scouts we had super reliable waterproof shock proof hand lights that cost maybe 80$ for the best.

Also how is the trigger? I have a Timmny on the ar and the Aug seems pretty... different. It's going to need some work, possibly the ratworx stuff or the trigger tammer. The trigger isn't for target/bench shooting. how's the trigger on that ak thing?

I used four locks because they were on sale.

Here are the contents of the case. Observe the spare magazine spring (very important) and scope-ready foam cutout. There's a spare set of barrel springs in there, too, but the angle's not great. Other miscellaneous bobs and bits. Two five-round magazines, but it's not California legal because it doesn't have a bullet button.

922r does not apply to all classes of firearms. Pistols for example. Sporting configuration rifles and shotguns are considered exempt. This is why Saigas were imported how they were. Apparently the Lynx is considered a sporting configuration rifle in the US and is thus exempt from 922r. The only thing that confuses me is the muzzle brake. With a muzzle brake it shouldn't be considered exempt. OP might have plugged that on after it crossed the border though.

I can't imagine how your FFL would import the rifle. You would never convince anyone that a low-recoil autoloading anti-materiel rifle was for "sporting purposes" or even that enough components were made in the USA (0 obviously not being enough).

If you actually are in the USA, yeah, I'd be worried. You're literally the only person in three hundred twenty-three million people dumb enough to have attempted to do it with this rifle.

I find it funny and amusing that your FFL also thought this was OK. Hope you don't have a dog.

Maybe I'm completely misreading the statute, but doesn't 922(r) only concern the assembly of a firearm from imported parts? What if the weapon is already fully assembled?

Regardless, I'm going to have to talk to my attorney before I do anything else, much less put any ammo through it. So much for my Independence Day weekend plans.

It concerns importing the firearm at all. The gun has to be imported in a "sporting" configuration, and then if you want it to be in an unsporting configuration it has to have at least 10 US-made parts so that it doesn't count as being an imported firearm anymore. Yes, it's stupid and nonsensical, but it's the law.

Lol bruh chill

No need to talk to an attorney or any shit like that.

Maybe technically your rifle is in violation of 922r... But nobody gives a shit. This is your uncle with illegal SBRs telling you "just chop the barrel down the cops around here don't care"

AK owners have been violating the fuck out of 922r for ages. Only like 2 people have ever been prosecuted for 922r and it was tack on charges for much bigger gun offenses.

The only time you need to be concerned with 922r is if you're an importer or seller. Just go shoot your Lynx you lucky fucking dog and enjoy it.

If you really want to be on the safe side then simply return the rifle to the state that it was in when it was imported. I assume it was imported legally, right? If you drove it over in the back of a van then you actually did fuck up. But if the ATF signed off on it, you're good to go. Whatever state it was in when it was originally imported is all Gucci. But really I wouldn't sweat it at all. Chill
