Question: Is mixing camo blasphemy?

>multicam rifle
>gray ears, gloves
>forest green shemagh
>coyote chest rig, rucksack
>marpat boonie, maybe pants?

Will it look reasonable or frankenstein?
>>
>>30425429
>Question: Is mixing camo blasphemy?
Not inherently. It's fine if your patterns are kind of all meant for a similar region.

>multicam rifle
>gray ears, gloves
>forest green shemagh
>coyote chest rig, rucksack
>marpat boonie, maybe pants?
You're going to hell.
>>
>>30425429

What you have in that picture looks fine. The rifle is kind of odd but whatever. I wouldn't paint my rifle any camo pattern I wasn't planning on wearing.

I don't think forest marpat pants would look good though.

I'm not that anon, but I own a medium "The Sloucher" armor carrier by First Spear ( similar carrier) and can tell you that my carrier has elastic on the sides of the plate bags to accommodate different size plates ( commercial 10 x12s/ military M SAPIs) . I'm almost positive that the Seige R features this as well. I can almost guarantee that Medium SAPIs will fit within a Medium sized FS carrier as my 10 x12s fit snugly, which are a bit wider than Medium SAPI plates. These carriers are marketed towards the military as well, so it really shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks guys, I think I'll stick with jeans for now then, if I decide to get camo pants I'll go with multicam for aesthetic and maybe get a duller shemagh to match the boonie.

It's tricky because blue jeans is obviously non-nonchalant and won't attract negative attention, but do camouflage right and you won't attract any.
>>
>>30425552
The problem is that my plates are not sapi-cut at all, i'm running 314х265mm russian plates.
>>
>>30425563
I left it on a table with PVS-15s and some dude knocked it off the table and it landed on the 15s.

They were fine but the mount was bent hehe
>>
>>30425383

Ah, I think I misread the question. If the plates are 1cm larger in both dimensions, then they are most likely 10 x 12s which should fit as I have the same size in my carrier.
>>
>>30425429
what
>>30425465
said, in general. People can pull it off. You are not pulling it off. Mostly because of the coyote and multicam trying to mix with green. gross.
>>
>>30425584
Hmmm, unfortunately they probably won't fit a medium carrier then. 10 inches /25.4 cm is basically the outer limit for the medium size carrier plate width. I don't know if a size up would work.

Max's costume was tailored to look cool, if you just throw one on the battlejacket is pretty awkward looking usually. The magazine pouches might be a bit tilted and there's this big awkward blank space in your chest, plus the big stupid black velcro patches. Max doesn't have the velcro and wears it without it buckled in front.

it really wouldn't. The parka was just because i like the meme camo. Woodland legitimately works better up there then multicam.

Very common to mix woodland type camo tops with desert type camo bottoms, to fit terrain with trees and sand terrain.

Same with woodland top and snow bottom for winter warfare in woods.

I think it's a good platform for modding to your needs. Like I tuck my pouch flaps, and may remove them, but I also kept the sectional backing and put a source 1 liter bladder in the top and a shooting sock in the bottom. I use one canteen pouch as a dump pouch (tied back the cover with its own straps) and the other I put my cassette deck in for shits'n'operational'gigs. It's just fun

>>
>>30431521
NFM, a Scandinavian gear company, makes the top in N-Kamo, they shop every once in awhile on Danish eBay since a lot of soldiers bought them...

Pretty much the story goes is that Equipnor, a Norwegian gear store, commissioned Crye to make like 500 something units of Crye N-Kamo pants... And had NFM make the top...

>>
>>30433058
No. The systema stuff kinda sucks. Also, save your money get the slick rear. There's nothing you need to mount to your back.

I wore the pig brig as a slick under a chest rig, and in that situation it was pretty good.

So if the brig isn't the right choice, what is? Ferro slickster? AT armor contingency carrier?

so you're just going to take the PC off every time you run out of water? Even with a 3L bladder, I've got to fill it up at least once in a day of training.

wear it like a pack. and if you've got a real pack, put the bladder in the pack or attach it to the pack.

I've never been able to figure out the name, I bought it in a milsurp store while I was visiting family in Třebíč.

Only tag on it is this one on the liner, and the store advertised it as a "sniper jacket." That's all the info I can provide.
>>
>>30433769
Yes.

I've done this before. It's far more annoying to me to have the straps of the PC and the straps of the chest rig and the straps of the hydration carrier, than it is to take my gear off and on.

>>30433790

I want a PC that I can rock slick, under my rig for now while I buy pouches to build up the PC to be able to stand alone. So it sounds like neither the brig nor the ferro are ideal for me.

Hey now, Blue, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution.

Having a hydration carrier directly attached to the pack makes sense for people who aren't going to be getting much of an opportunity to refill the water throughout the day. For that reason, there is no pro by having the pack be seperate, and there is a con of having increased straps, bulk, and flop.

I, myself, personally wear a hydration pack that is not attached to armor, but I do that to allow modularity and because more often than not I have a true rucksack on. But I know plenty of people who just MOLLE on hydration.

What's the consensus on the Direct Action Ghost pack?

Looking for something gray man~ish, but this has all the features I want. Will be removing the external pack to leave in the car and using the main one only, in gray.

I've been using a really old Jansport for years for everything I need to do, even hiking, but I want to upgrade. I do a lot of walking and sometimes running along, so a pack like that seems to fit me well unless anyone else has any suggestions. Was considering the Condor Elite Fail Safe pack but then remembered its' Condor. Vertx packs don't seem as appealing either. This is something I plan on keeping for a long time.

I actually have the grey DA Ghost. I use it for edc, it can hold a lot of stuff. The removable waist strap with molle and suspenders kind of sucks. can't wait.
I've been planning on buying a few Chicoms to cannibalize for material to mod a type 56.

I would like to see what other people did with their rigs for ideas. All I saw of modded Chicoms that looked decent is pic-related.
>>
>>30444602
That's so blurry, I can't honestly tell what's modified.

As for ideas, the easiest step is to put a buckle on the backstrap. Requires no special skills to do.

Some people sew the bottom of the pouches up a bit so that AR magazines sit a bit higher. Some people use small block spacers. I personally just put pull tabs and call it a day.

The things people I know did include replacing the wood tabs with velcro, or by adding bungie straps to the top. The also put elastic across the front of each mag pouch horizontally; when the rig is loaded with 6 STANAGs, having that velcro keeps the remaining magazine in a pouch from flopping around when the other mag is pulled out.

They had a large sewing machine, and removed the grenade pouches on the sides. They used the machine to add MOLLE strips.

I haven't seen it done, but adding a hydration or small sustainment pack to the back of a Chicom might be within the wheelhouse of somebody with a sewing machine.

Usually anybody using them would give them a good coat of spraypaint to make them match whatever the terrain was.

Many of these modifications were ugly as fuck. These are not professional tailors doing them, so the looks would offend some GQ sensibilities, but they worked well enough.

Some people will also replace those green buckles or whatever they're called with D-rings and add a couple of buckles on the front to make the rig easier to adjust.

The great thing about chicom rigs is that they're $12 and they already don't look particularly pretty out the box.

Yeah, I've seen that online just never in person. That rig looks much more aesthetic than anything I've seen in person. The stitching on the front straps for example is very well done with some finesse. The DIY mods I've seen were ugly but stronk.
>>
>>30444717
>That's so blurry, I can't honestly tell what's modified.
See that rather large GP pouch under his left arm. it ain't a grenade pouch.

I was thinking along the lines of buckles as you said.

Grommet for the mag cells

adding a map pouch on the inside of the chest rig with a velcro or flap closure.

Pen holders on the inside of the rig.
And a small stowaway pocket on the inside of the rig for a waterproof notebook.

How retarded am I?
>>
>>30444844
Would also add some elastic or something on the bottom to hold a TQ, like on the Mayflower chest rigs. That would be a pretty capable setup.
>>
>>30444844
>Map pouch
>Pens
>Notebook

Thinking like somebody who is going to the field. Not a lot of GQ rigs add that stuff. If you have the sewing skills, I don't see the problem.

I keep the notebook on a belt or pocket, but nothing at all with a hideaway inside of the chest rig.

I'd say not to forget a sharpie with your pens, but that's super nitpicky.

You may find the grommet to be overkill. It's certainly an improvement over the wood tabs, but honestly if you use the mag pouches open topped with the flap tucked in, the rifle mags are still very secure.
>>
>>30444909
I think by grommet he means drainage. Not like a retention snap or something. Would be cool to add bungees or kydex inserts or velcro on the flap or something.

After the ruck think I will go

4.Misc gear (multitool, knife, patches, ect)

Is that good? Or do you guys have better suggestions? I am new to gear, so if you guys with more xp have suggesyions I'm all ears.

Fuckers are a weak point on the human anatomy. And when it's cracked or broken it makes it hurt to move any part of your upper body, it's all connected and stretches the collarbone.

D3CR should be coming in tomorrow.

Hot shit.

What's a man to buy next? Is a flat pack worth having or is it kind of gimmicky? It hooking to the D3CR directly seems pretty cool, and I could put a hydration bladder in it.
>>
>>30448413
But sling bags flop around like a motherfucker. Proper med pack is the best way in my opinion.
>>
>>30448813
I saw someone talk about those leg bags a while ago, idk if those are any good or not.

All my mag pouches are doubles so I am gonna be looking at 10+1 for my primary and 2+1 for my secondary once i get that last pouch for my mag side. Listening to you guys, I am thinking about keeping my bleeder where it is and using the pouch underneath it for random bits.

For the ruck, I was going to look at something modular that can take a sustainment pack. That way I can have a ruck, then have a detachable smaller pack that can carry buddy aid.

Battle belt is where I was going to have my dump pouch and pouches for tools I may need such as flashlight, knife, multitool.

Sounds like a lot of weight, but I am used to carrying a lot of weight. Besides, our current plan if SHTF is to either

A. Bug in on my property. Or if the situation is really hitting it,

B. Take a car as far as it will go, then ruck it the rest of the way to my family ranch.

Thank you.
>>
>>30448813
all preferance i guess. i had a assault pack on most times so a sling pack over that was my best option not ideal but then neither is humping 100 pounds of bullshit around.

>>30448921
advice again, keep shit off your legs. it gets very anoying very fast
>>
>>30448773
Yeah mine has a big ole knot because the doctors didn't want me to have a sling and I was too much of a little retard to ask for one. Couldn't shoulder press for a couple years afterwards.

>thinking desert night camo works at night
It's objectively more useful during day time hours than its original purpose.

...c'mon man.
>>

It doesnt. It had one purpose which was to trick 70s Era soviet NV which had a grid similar to the camo pattern but was already obsolete before the camo was even in production.

It does however work about as well as puma camouflage in vegetated areas.

gotta protect the resell value senpai

Innnawoods in kit is not an option at the moment for me.
+ walking around the range in full battle rattle isn't a priority for me.

Then why do you own it?

why not?

I've been able to sell it off at a markup usually.
I've made more easy money in gear than the stock trade.

The only reason I bought ceramic plate was to due to the prospect of them being banned. thinking I could just sell them off in the grey market to my favour.

hydration systems I use
Guns I use
pack I use
Chicoms I use.
eyes,ears,hat I use.
if I ever go to a meetup I would probably use a PC.

If you have a small waist you might be able to use a little of the mills piece. I'm a 34 and it's almost unusable as a battle belt

It's stil a good, comfortable, well made bag. Honestly the laser cut molle isn't a turn off for me in terms of being mall ninja. I stick pens, folder knives, all kind of shit in them. 8/10 recommend. If you get the grey though, it's pretty blue. Luckily I can leave mine in a van in FL with fuckhuge untinted windows all day so it's bleaching out.

What do I do with all the excess straps hanging off the D3CR?

yo m8s, how long does it take for kevlar to be rendered unusable by old age? does age even matter that much?
