He harasses random people, and if his son's frustration is any indication is a terrible instructor.
His gear reviews are pretty unscientific and again, he doesn't have a great experience or training base of knowledge so I'm not sure why I should care what he thinks.
There are better gun & tactical gear reviewers out there, and if you want to learn about "bug out" gear, then going to actual hikers forums is way better than going to gun forums, since the hikers use their shit more.

As much as I think he's a sperg too, this is just wrong. He was an O5 tanker pilot in the air guard, which meant he was a wing or squadron commander at some point. As a pilot he's without a doubt been to SERE.

This is kinda bogus, what does a ground pounder know about these things? They know how to zero a red dot likely, and put stuff in their bag and make sure the straps are neat. There's no special training a ground guy gets over a plane guy when it comes to bags or sights, it's just likely the ground guy gets more use out of them. With that said, the point is kinda lost as he has demonstrated knowledge in both putting objects in backpacks and using a red dot.

It doesn't, nothing does but using that specific piece of gear, which is what he does. Gear reviews are a mishmash of practicality, durability, functionality, and of course price and pure opinion. This is why Vickers, who by your standards should be a living god of equipment knowledge, sells Fireclean like it's smagical goodness. Course getting a fad wad of dosh helps the process along.

Most reviews from other websites are 5 mins tops. "Hey, this is a gun, here's it's history, lets go shoot it" - One Mag later - "Oh look at that, bullets go in, and they come out. I'm like, totally surprised by this wholly expected outcome. MSRP - $$$"
It's boring. Most of them don't say much of value, and they certainly don't sound excited about it.
