Is it better to buy guns online or in a local store? I assume everyone feels differently but what is your opinion?
>>
>>30403586
Either way you have to go to the store to get it.
>>
>>30403592
Yes I understand that but are there better prices online? I know at gun shows they tend to overcharge
>>
>>30403611
It depends. Prices for several guns are lower at my local gun store than on gunbroker. You should check both before making a decision.

One benefit of online though is that often you won't end up paying tax. Take that into account when determining the final price.
>>
>>30403611
We dont know the prices in your local area
>>
>>30403652
They are really high. I want to buy a really powerful gun, but my mom will find out and get super mad if I buy online.

Her boyfriend Dan gets super pissed off at me all the time and I hate him. I want him to mind his own fucking business.
>>
Poorfag here, some online stores offer layaway. So I go with them.

Also lgs tend to price gouge. Mine has a NPAP selling for $830

Buy a gun at a home OP,

Got this for $130 an hour ago

Gotta love armslist
>>
Usually for me, if it's new I buy it online. Always like $150 cheaper, even including all the shipping and fees.

If it's used, definitely buy it in store to inspect it, make sure it works right, etc.
>>
Sometimes it's possible to get a slightly better price than my LGS online but I find the degraded service I receive when I go there to pick it up to generally scrub any net advantage.

Gun stores are businesses and want you to buy their own shit. So when you don't, I find most of them treat you as second class, make you wait more, etc.
>>
For new guns, you're paying ~$50-$250 in tax. Online you may pay shipping plus whatever FFL transfer fee. Compare the two and if there's enough of a difference; do it online. I almost always buy from grabagun.

If it's used or milsurp, do local unless you find some crazy good deals.

Shop local, keep your money local, don't become estranged from the product of you labor.

It is simple really, and applies to everything we spend our money on, food, products, services, entertainment.

It may seem like you're getting a better deal by outsourcing or purchasing something made far away, but there are hidden costs in the subjugated and impoverishment of whatever far-away peoples are exploited for your cheap product.

By keeping your money local you foster community and a sense of social belonging.

I buy my guns from my lgs, even though it costs me a little more money.
>>
>>30403710
nice little boat/snake gun
>>
>>30403710
That is not super powerful. That is just a dumb revolver that cant even shoot 45 caliper.

I want something really powerful. I want people to know that they cant yell at me or fuck with me. They will know to fucking back the fuck up or I will kill them. I will harness the power of death and Dan will fucking stay away.

Thx

I already reload 32long, so it was the sale of the century for me
>>
>>30403695
If you can't buy it outright, you've got no business buying it...

>>30403715
Yeah, the have 'jokingly' poked at me for that before, asking why I never buy stuff in the store, but I don't really have an interest in $1600 AR's or a $3K non-para FAL.

i've got an H&R in .32 short
>>

Shut up dumb bitch. I am going to shut your mouth when I get my gun. You won't fuck around at my house and Dan won't fuck with me. You don't know me.
>>
>>30403744
a can of pepper spray would be just as good at stopping dan from touching your nono places and they are much less trouble to get.

32s&w and 32 long are interchangeable iirc

No I am so angry right now. He broke my Xbox one. He broke it and I hate him. I had all the friends lists on there and he broke it. He yelled at me and I am not a kid anymore. I will kill him.

No one will ever sell you a gun kid
>>
>>30403811
yeah, but i've been warned about using .32 long in guns built for .32 short
>>
>>30403822
You should use your words. Tell Dan how you feel.
>>
>>30403586
Best case scenario: you find an online gunstore that's based locally. Then you get internet low prices with free pickup.
>>
>>30403836
Dont call me a kid dumb shit. I will kill you.

Also I can block pain with my mind so dont fuck with me. You will fucking die.
>>
>>30403858
That's true, you can go the other way though

I could shoot 32short in this one, just you need to avoid it in yours

327mag, can shoot them all
>>
>>30403880
Ut oh, another interwebs tough guy....

I'm shaking
>>
>>30403586
fingerfuck @ store, find a price online, give LGS opportunity to match minus xfer fee, give LGS benefit of doubt to support local business, then run the subjective numbers.

I only have a small LGS, and it sucks to be them trying to run against the big online retailers, but it usually comes down to a +/- $15 diff. bottom line.

For $15 up to $40, I'm going with LGS without hesitation unless they're assholes, as I get them to hold stuff for me, and they also have good bait.
>>
>>30403887
yeah, so i've ran into buying issues because some of the boxes were just marked ".32 S&W" no indication beside that
>>
>>30403931
You probably should just reload

The last box of 32long I bought was about $30+ (10years ago)

Still have it....
>>
>>30403931
Can't say I have even seen 32short for sale ever

But I'm pretty sure 32s&w is too hot for 32short
Due to it being basically equal to 32long

Hope you didn't waste too much money
>>
I mainly visit my LGS to look at the used firearms and to get transfers done. If they are slow I will hang around and chat.
>>
>>30403586
buying online is awesome, i almost always find stuff that is lower priced than my Local gun store.

on occasion ill find some stuff at my LGS that is decently priced. Like for instance i found a Ruger precision rifle recently at my LGS, that i cant find online.

Online retailers and your local guns stores have their uses.

One of my local stores is retarded and sells everything cheaper than anywhere else. Brand new 92fs for 520, new in box 226 for 800

Always buy online these days. Will fondle guns and occasionally range test at the store, if available. Gunbroker or Buds, shipped to a guy near me who has a day job and FFL for transfers on the side. Last 2 pistols I bought at a gun store were the display units because"they just sold out". Not a huge deal but my OCD doesn't like it.

I hope you buy some ammo from them for doing your transfers

I used to go to a place that had $15 transfers
I stopped going when it hit $25

Now it's $40

Apparently they don't like my business
>>
>>30405516
i do buy ammo from them, seeing as they actually carry 9x18. it must be a new thing, i dont recall ventura doing free transfers earlier in the year
>>

not after I vote for hillary and she puts an end to madmen like youself
>>
>>30405886
lel wut? i was implying a fucking pawn shop is a shit place to buy a gun. i suppose theres always a chance a decent gun is available there, but why bother? a pawn shop will never sell a reasonable weapon lower than a legit gun shop
>>
>>30405957
Single purpose gun stores in my area are just becoming a bigger thing. Some of the pawn shops are better than the gun stores.

Prices online won't always be better than brick and mortar for every gun, but you will always be able to find lower prices by shopping a large number of online stores at once. I have to use slickguns.com to comb through several dozen online stores to find a particular model for sale at half a dozen of those places that has a better price than a brick and mortar shop. But the price is still better online.
>>
>>30403713
>If it's used, definitely buy it in store to inspect it, make sure it works right, etc.

Close inspections are not always required if people on Gunbroker or whatever are willing to take good pictures of the gun.
>>
>>30403586
private sales
>>
gun shop wanted $900 for a CZ SP-01 Tac
found same model new for $600.
shipped to that shop just 2 piss him off.

whatever has the lower price
>>
I buy all my guns on Jewbook so there's nothing connecting me to anything. Generally just meet in the parking lot of wal-mart and swap money and goods. Not only that but the prices are ridiculous and I don't really care if they're stolen
>>
>>30403720
>tfw found a LGS that was so awesome I would scrounge up my money from shoveling out horse stalls in high school just to buy ammo I didn't need to chat with the two Nam vets and help keep them in business
>too poor to buy any guns until I left to go to college
>come home, have money for guns, decide to go to LGS, call them to ask if they've got it in stock before I head over cash in hand (only accepted cash checks and MO's)
>get an answering machine that says they retired and shop is closed
>go to relatively new cabela's to buy said gun
>no chats about post war Germany surplus distribution
>no commentary about those damn Russians and their cheap surplus
>no more Mosin and SKS sales with a sign that says "Vladimir Special" on the price tag
>guy at Cabela's processing my 4473 won't share bantz
>new LGS isn't even an LGS, just a CC class with an FFL
>I'll never grope a Swastika stamped Mauser as a 65 year old commie hater asks how my dog is doing agan

I'm drunk sure but what you said is totally right and I regret so bad that I didn't try and shovel more business to those guys instead of horse shit and hay
>>

This

My local gunshop got taken over by the guy's douchey son and wal-mart is the only other place anywhere near here to get guns or ammo. And the guy that works the sporting goods department when I usually go in is this old faggy guy who "doesn't see why anyone needs an AR" and thought you could fire a 9mm in a 10mm since it was 'almost as big'
