Just had my 2nd ND...was practicing loading my SKS and it slam fired.

Because of this im seriously considering a clearing bucket. Has anyone else used one of these? how effective is it? Does sand or gravel work better?
>>
It works, probably want a metal bucket as the side may split on a plastic one. Sand, less sharp fragments flying around that way.

The EEE never goes away. Embrace it. I've been having it since I was 9. Hunting trip. My dad had a 7mm Rem Mag and I had a .243 with a 16 inch barrel. We both fired at the same time at two different deer. The stand was less than 10 sq. ft. Embrace the EEE. It will never leave.

>>30383212
It depends on the gun, the caliber, and what kind of room, where you are in the room, etc. It could be a few hours to a few days. Then maybe you're fine a few years, then you start noticing weird thigs, like reduced hearing in one, popping in your ears, rining in your ears, the dreaded EEEEEE.

If you hear that stuff solid for a week or more your totally fucked forever.

I simply asked why he would be loading a live round in his residence. Is he planning on shooting something? The only time I chamber a round in my apartment is the moment before I holster my CC.

I love this meme.
>>
>>30383137

Using an sks could be classified in and of itself as negligent.

Using commercial ammo with soft primers that are prone to slam firing in such an action is also negligent.

I suppose you could call it incompetence though.

op's sks.jpg
18 KB, 800x338
it is commonly known that the sks is prone to slam fire
you should not have been "practicing" with live rounds op
but the truth is you alwayse gotta point a gun in a safe direction
especially when loading and unloading
any gun can slam fire
but you were asking for it op
that is some stupid shit to be doing
even if i had just cleaned and inspected every part of an sks i would not ever chamber a round without expecting a possible slam fire

its just common knowledge op

If you need a bucket of sand in your house because you don't trust yourself or your gun(s), then you shouldn't own guns and the guns you do own are shitty.

Take a bucket, fill it to just about the top with quick set concrete, then stick a threaded metal eye hook rated 200 lbs+ in the top so that the eye hole is still exposed, and let it all dry

Tie a nylon cord also rated 200 lbs+ to your ankle, fashion to the eye hook, and drop the bucket into your nearest lake
>>
>>30387203
This.
Stop spilling syrup on your bolt op
>>
>>30389002
I've got a better solution for OP

Take a bucket, fill it just about to the top with quickset concrete, then stick your head inside and breathe deep before the concrete settles.

>>
>>30390345
You're going to blame Pmags for shooting your fucking dog?
I normally lurk in most threads, but you put a bullet in an animal that would give its life for you at the drop of a hat and you have the gal to blame an inanimate object for your mistake.

I've never said this unironically before, but find your dog a better home, donate all of your money,
And fucking

Don't listen to these niggers it goes away after a few days, rapid fired a semi auto 30-06 before with no hearing protection, never had problems
>>
>>30387203

An avoidable accident is still an accident. Not cleaning your rifle may be stupid and irresponsible but it doesn't constitute negligence; a gun shouldn't fire without the trigger being pulled regardless of how dirty it is. It could also have been simply caused by soft-primered commercial ammo, which I try to avoid loading into guns with free-floated firing pins unless I'm at the range. Again, possibly stupid and avoidable, but not negligent.

1. Pmags aren't shit.
2. It isn't fucking hard to clear a double feed.
3. If you have a malfunction THE FIRST FUCKING THING YOU DO is put the gun on safe.
4. Keep that shit pointed down range, with your finger off the trigger.
5. Make sure your line of fire is clear, always.
6. Check the mechanics of your gun (Doublefeeds are usually ejector, not mag related.)
Seriously though, donate your shit, find your dog a better home. The next ND you have should be self-inflicted.
