At this close distance, which ship would sink the other first when they start shooting each other simultaniously?
>>
>>30382493
Simply based off missile speeds of the YJ-18 and 83 vs the RGM-84, the Arleigh Burke would go down first.
>>
>>30382689
>Type 054
>YJ-18

>high subsonic missiles are faster than high subsonic missiles

>minimum firing distances

Also that Burke would be firing Tomahawks or SM-2/SM-6 at the 054, it doesn't carry Harpoons.
>>
>>30382493

The Chink ship's turret wont have to traverse as much, so it would get the first shots off and can kill the Burke's turret before it can even fire.

At that distance, missiles hardly play any role. I would even doubt that they would work, as they have minimum engagement ranges.

052C:

1x Chinese licence produced french 100 mm modèle 68 Compact, rate of fire 78 rounds poer minute

Arleigh Burke:

1x 5"/54 caliber Mark 45 gun, raot of fire 16-20 rounds per minute

FCS of both are pretty much same.

The better destructive power of the 127mm gun would give the Burke an edge, but one shouldnt underestimate the RoF advantage of that Chinese destroyer.

Not to mention; the 052C have two 30mm gatlings as well.
>>
There is no real way to say for sure until one actually sinks the other at that distance.

Everything that will be posted in this thread will be conjecture.
>>
>>30382922
How would each ship's torpedoes perform at that range?
>>
At this distance the Yamato would sink them all.
>>
>>30382968
I dont think that ASW torps even work against surface ships.
>>
>>30382975
You could probably finagle it to work. Probably not on such short notice.
>>
>>30382996
They won't arm in time.
>>
>>30382968
Well, both ships use quite similiar ASW torps. China's Yu-7 or Yu-11 are both developments from Mk.46 LWTs, that the US also uses Mk.46/50/54, all with a range with about 15-20km and 40+ knots speed.
>>
>>30382825
That's a Luyang not a Jiangkai, look at the profile; and I thought SM-6s were SAMs
>>
>>30383100
Sm-6 can be used for anti surface
>>
>>30383118
Groovy, didn't know that
>>
if they were both on an even playing field, the Burke would win. The Chinks would have to get from their dog cooking stations to the turret, and when they finally got to the turret, they would have to take out their manuals to figure out how to use it.

This.

>Not to mention; the 052C have two 30mm gatlings as well.

Burke, depending on version has one or two Phalanx CIWS and pair of 25mm Bushmaster automatic cannons.
>>
>>30383011
I'd disagree with that. You wouldn't be launching them from like 50 feet away.
>>
>>30382922
>At that distance, missiles hardly play any role.

Can you not program them to take a long detour or fire them straight up for a few km before coming back down?
>>
>>30383100
Oh, it's the Xi’an.

Type 052C might not have the YJ-18, but the YJ-62A is quite solid as well.

Basically, a sino-Tomahawk anti ship variant with 600km range and a big 300kg warhead.

054A is actually also present.

Most of the standard missiles series have a anti ship ability.

you need like 100 yards.
>>
>>30382689
At such a close distance Anti-ship missiles wouldn't be very relevant and hypersonic ones wouldn't be able to have the booster kick in yet. It'd come down to the guns.
