I never understood the mentality of people posting NDs like they think they'll earn a merit badge or something.

I honestly made a mistake today. And I got lucky. Hornady crit def rounds really are home owner safe

Explain how you made this mistake.

Inb4 i was cleaning the gun

Great idea, OP. The world is better off without you.

Breaking in cc holster for xd MOD.2 ......tried racking the slide one handed on my belt.....rear sights are too shallow sloped. Tried racking off heel. Success! Somehow my dumb ass forgot that successful rack = DUUH.
First ND in my life. 20+ years of shootin

U wut?
>>
>>30381656
So you're telling me you were manipulating your weapon, inside your home, loaded?
And in the entire process, you didn't think that you could've practiced all this with an unloaded weapon?

Is this what you're trying to imply as "just a mistake"?
Or is it a"lapse of common sense and judgement"?
>>
>>30381754
Absolut lapse (or lack) of common sense . I was doing pull from holster and point dry fires all afternoon......tried doing some fancy shit......forgot that the mag was back in the gun
>>
>>30381656
You're fucking stupid
>>
>>30381876
Well, next time either have no mag, empty mag, or dedicate a mag to training at home by loading it up with visibly recognized snap caps, color taping that mag, and double check its all snap caps.
If you want the weight of a loaded mag, well, you'll just have to do that on the actual range.
>>
>>30381497
cool , will post my first ND aswell

I ND'd a .22 Stinger into the door of my safe once. Family safe, was looking at it the night before and put it back unloaded. someone had chambered it between then and me getting it back out

no damage save for a small little hole in the felt on the inside of the door. It Disintegrated on the door.

NDs, like teenage pregnancy, only happens to idiots.

I hope you didn't get lost in her vagina, it took me 9 months to find my way out.

You're just jelly I get all of that 16 year old trailer trash pussy!
>>
Caliber? How many walls did it go through?
>>
>>30382397
You shouldn't have to learn, its the first thing anybody teaches you when they hand you a gun. Unless your firearm malfunctions there is absolutely no way a ND should happen. Thats why its called "Negligent Discharge"
>>
>first
Do you PLAN for more?
>>
>>30382449
I want to start a collection
>>
>>30382415

I can't imagine why.
That thing was gaping and crevasse-like enough to walk through with your arms outstretched to the sides, you wouldn't even need to bend your neck.
>>
>>30382397

9mm hornady 115 ftx critical defense
>>
>>30381560
were you using your firearm as a fleshlight in the shower when it came
>>
>>30381656

Every single ND I've read about on this site could have been prevented if the idiot had just used dummy rounds instead of live ammo. I worry for the future of our country.
>>
>>30381656
So your first instinct before checking to make sure the chamber is clear is to pull the trigger? Wtf.
>>
>>30381656
OP what you need is a clearing bucket
>>
I've only ND'd once. I was at the range with my grandfather using his Ruger Mk II. There was an FTE, so I dropped the mag, locked the slide back, and plucked out offending cartridge. When I pulled the slide back to release it, it slamfired into the ceiling.
>>
>>30381656
>Breaking in cc holster

why do you need to that loaded?
>>
>>30382898
Yeah, by definition every ND ever could have been prevented with dummy rounds. Not saying anything real substantial there.
>>
Shit cost me a dollar in ammo, 3 in Spackle, and a shit ton in humility. Can't believe I was that stupid......

My first responder/cc is always loaded.

Anywho. I'm really digging the cloak tuck 3.0
It's almost too comfy, compared to other IWBs
>>
>>30381497

I'm not gonna berate you, OP, I'm sure you learned something from it. Thanks for sharing.

I ND'd a few years back and posted it as well. It's a sobering experience. Handling firearms regularly tends to make one complacent.

Complacent kinda sums it up.
I saw my old man ND once w a 1911 (yeah, I know.....) and I busted his balls. I swore I would always check b4 I pulled the trigger. Fuck me I bet he's facepalm laughing his ass off at me from the grave.
>>
>>30381497
Glad nobody was hurt OP

And did you just hit drywall? I run 115gr critical defense in my HD gun and was certain that they'd simply not expand against drywall and act like FMJ.

So round made 12 entry/exit passes through two bathrobes......then hit the tile wall at about a 135° angle.....at which point the jacket separated from the lead. Jacket bounced off the cabinet...superficial dent......lead pooped through and bounced off of inner cabinet wall.
>>
>>30383692
Did you ever have the original cloak tuck, the plain leather one? Do you think the 3 is worth the extra thirty bucks?

Never touched any other alien gear beforehand. I played w kydex, fox, Galco, and blue (something). The all leather kydex and galco iwbs felt too sticky....I would want an undershirt tucked in, then the leather iwb, then overshirt
Then I tried the cloak tuck 2. Loved it. The 3 is a Fucking Cadillac. It's comfy as hell, and adjustable as hell. The 3 has a decent retention plate......it's a noticeable diff from the 2. I hadn't played with all the different ride heights yet......
The alien gear was the most comfortable out of the lot. 10/10

Hope that helps.

What is the backing made of? Like rubber or neoprene? My 1.0 is pretty comfortable, but I'm thinking of upgrading to the 3.0.

Backing is neoprene. It's a thick enough layer that it feels padded almost. The rest of the holster molds itself to your 5 o'clock
