Soon, i will into AKM for innawoods. Should i change the folding stock to a fixed one? I like wood furniture, and it'd be sturdier, but it'd be longer and heavier then too. I also might want to fix bayonet
what do

you can either pay $500 for parts and labor to have a slr style folding stock put on or you can buy some kind of folding stock like a magpul. either way, i wouldnt do it.
folding stock is good for transporting, thats about it.

The parts kit comes with a side folding rear trunnion
I can order a fixed rear trunnion if i want, but it's separate

Folders:
portability
aesthetic

not as sturdy
Fixed:

cleaning kit place

is your akm your only gun thats with you? if no, list others w/ charicteristics
also gear

I would also into a wonder nine
As for gear, camping shit. I could list, but basically just map, compass, schrade f26, skinners knife, iodine tablets, emergency food, covered hammock, etc

then you should want the fixed stock. if you were 3 gunning it with a shotgun i would say folding stock, but you may want to look at 22lr pistol instead of a 9mm, you cant really hunt much with the 9, but a 22 or a slingshit would be great for small game

I should add, a 22 pistol like a ruger or a buck mark, something with a longer barrel, not a derringer or a shrunk down 9mm wannabe gun like a walther p22
I had an underfolder and the weight of the rifle is off and the stock sucks. It's a total compromise for extra portability. I vote for a full stock if your life depends on this gun.

>the weight is off
I hadn't considered that. Hmm
