Just finished a test run of the paint scheme I'm going to use for my AR. I tested on a broken airshit gun I had lying around. The paint scheme obviously isn't going to mirror what my AR is going to look like. I'll post what I want the final product to look like after my test photos.
I plan on having just the buffer tube blue
Adding a mythosaur skull stencil that goes from the lower to my mags
The mandalorian leaf on the stock
and some weathering so it isn't in your face

Try not getting so close. Order paint online. Are you sure you're old enough to own a gun/post here?
Also, the gun is plastic so that probably contributes to the glare

Meaning the lighter color, or thin coats?
There's too much blue/ it needs to be darker.
If you have to get the buffer tube/ castle nut cerekoted somewhere so you can get it the right color, or at least a better shade.

Mostly just thinner coats so it doesn't look so caked on. Yours looks great, what did you use?

I used a mix of rustoleum and krylon camo paints.
If I did it again I'd use only krylon camo.
Taped it off with scotch blue painters tape.
Just spray it from about 18" away, and don't worry if you don't get full coverage on the first pass or two.

Krylon camo Woodland Green or something like that.
Dark green is rustoleum OD
Tan is rustoleum taupe that is matte
black is rustoleum camo black

generally the surplus ones arent too bad i own a 15 or so random no marks ive picked up from guns shows or falfiles but i own 14 dsa mags one that came with the rifle itself which has a slightly different finish and a 30 rounder rest 20 rounders
i have no problems with my dsa mags or my surplus the only mags ive had problems with are those cheap as shit painted korean ones and most people i know with fals use dsa mags without problems but online ive heard people running into issues with them but ive personally never seen it happen
