Hello /k/. I wanted to get some advice.
So, I bought an AR-15 on consignment a few years ago for $500. It was hodgepodge of random parts that turned out to be a pretty good varmint rifle that's accurate enough for me.
However, a buddy of mine showed me the .50 Beowulf upper kits and I'm really liking the idea of having a larger caliber while still retaining the option of using my current mags and even swap receivers for whatever I want to shoot on that particular day.
Anyone have a good source for a reasonably priced .50 Beowulf upper kit? I found a kit on Alexander Arms for under $700, that doesn't really offer much, but at least I can get into it.
Also, ITT: Post .50 Beowulf related stuffs.
If you plan on obliterating engine blocks at 50-200 meters, then it's perfect for you.
Otherwise, you have a short range AR-15 that's super fucking expensive to shoot.
I ain't gonna tell you how to live your live tho.
Just shoot really, really slowly while training

I was thinking of hunting bigger game, and I like the idea of also being able to one-shot-stop both a bear and an engine block for around a dollar per round

Use it for HD.
Have you thought about investing in a reloading setup?

Now that you mention it, a bear driving what could possibly be a VBIED sounds terrifying.
I changed my mind, you should buy one. I should buy one, too.

It's clearly a dumb gimmick round that you'll grow tired of aside from the "Hey, check this shit out" factor, but you do what you want. It's your money and your gun.

I wonder what would happen if you put a Beowulf upper on a full retard lower...
Why not just get a PTR for $800 brand new and get into 308
>>30356743
you may be able to do a little better on gunbroker if you hit a lucky auction, but 700 is about the bottom of the range.

Not a .50 but GY6 vids shot a .458 socom upper full auto (skip to 7:30 to see full retardness)

0.3 seconds of fire, if you don't jam first, and if the BCG is compatible.
A ROUND TO SERVE THE IMPERIUM WELL WITH

This. .308 is more practical economically and at range.
But it's for fun so whatever. I've been thinking of getting a .45-70 Govt lever gun one of these days, so I get you.
radical firearms has a 12.7x42 upper that is essentially the same thing just without the patented name..

They have it on youtube. White dude shooting a barrel of water I think. He gets shoved straight back
>>30357541
This. If I were you I'd just spend the same money on a battle rifle and save the $500 AR for a future, possibly cooler project
>>30357713
Why the fuck did he jump cut so many times during the auto burst? Retard.
>>30356743
I've nothing to add to the discussion, just a pic related.

>.50 beowulf
I hope you reload.

Underrated post.

.50 Beowulf does a damned fine impression of modern standard .45-70 loads. It will actually hit fairly hard at longer ranges, but has one hell of a parabolic arc.

It's super annoying. All his vids are like that.
