How does one go about making a CAS aircraft armed with a 150 millimeter cannon that doesn't break apart when the gun fires?
>>30343366
Who Hearts of Iron II tho? Do you feel that IV is inferior or are you waiting for the expansions?
I'm poor
>>30343366
low velocity or fuck tons of mounting points to reduce stress on the air frame
>>30343366
Id say that a recoilless rifle is your best bet. Have a very long barrel run thru the aircraft and let the recoil exit at the rear.
If you actually want a 155mm howitzer then your aircraft will be the size of a C-17.
>>30343366
Give it a 150mm guided missile
>>30343417
hoi4 is for casuals
Easy you build the plane around the gun and you put titanium around the area holding the gun
HOI3 is goat, shame they ruined the entire franchise with 4.
>>30343537
How so
>>30343537
HOI2 (AOD/DH) are GOAT, not your
>lol lets put stalingrad on the wrong side of the river
>>30343366
low velocity and let gravity do most of the work.
>>30343564
that's a lot of communism
>>30343545
Visually it looks like a cartoon game for teenagers, plus it's been dumbed down dramatically.
>>30343564
I've got 5k hours logged on HOI3 but I've not even played 1 or 2 so I can't comment.
The Germans put a 355mm recoilless rifle on the Ju 288, and there are historical documents about a Mosquito having a QF-32 Pounder (94mm) being flown without issued, fired and then disassembled afterwards. Likely because rockets were better.
>>30343596
>Visually it looks like a cartoon game for teenagers
this means literally nothing
>it's been dumbed down dramatically
how so
>>30343606
They made the UI less shitty, so the franchise is ruined.

Like this maybe?
I watched Arumba's playthrough as Germany, holy shit it looked like he was playing on toddler difficulty. He must have attacked the Maginot line head on at least twice and still managed to beat France.

>355mm recoilless rifle
>>30343630
large tube on the bottom, one shot per flight

Removal of the OOB is a major simplification. Combat is now abstracted line drawing.

HOI4 has very good elements, like recruiting, mobilization, the way supply works and manufacturing/factories.
Also, one of the generals names was Magana

It does considering the game is a WW2 grand strategy game. Cartoon Hitlers and Rommels? Toy tanks and planes scurrying around? Lmfao.

>It does considering the game is a WW2 grand strategy game. Cartoon Hitlers and Rommels?
I agree with this statement. It looks like a flash game. The art designe somewhere fell apart.
>Toy tanks and planes scurrying around? Lmfao.
Turn on NATO counters in options.
Other than that, without the mentioned good things in this >>30343700 , everything else is downgraded to the casual level.
>>30343687
>Oh hey lets just strategically redeploy half your forces to move a few provinces
>>30343706
Turn on NATO counters.
The style is fine, I get if its not your thing, but it's not a fair judgement of the quality of the game. HoI 4 is pretty good. The AI is a little better than 3, and it does a lot of things really well. Some stuff needs work imo, Navy stuff needs a reworking for one, and the balance and AI could always be improved.
Also don't be an autist on /k/. I'm sure /v/ or /Gsg/ will have you.
>>30343728
>>30343687
You know, you don't have to let the AI use the plan, you can draw it up, wait for the planning bonus, and move your dudes yourself
Hell, you don't need to make plans at all, if you don't feel you need the bonus
>>30343706
It has no mechanical effect though
it literally means nothing
you can mod that shit out if it bothers you so much
although I think inaccuracies with nazis are due to german laws
