So I'm moving from NJ to MA. Not much of an upgrade, but what are the firearms laws in reality compared to what's in the books?
How much of a pain is it getting a basic FID?
After said FID, what does it take getting a firearm?
Is a CCW obtainable?

Personally I don't think Georgia is shitty, but god damn there no one in this fucking state, everything is at least 20 miles away, and it's like 80% humidity all the time. The gun laws are great but man it gets lonely sometimes.

CCW is kind of obtainable outside of Boston and the inner suburbs. Mag cap limits are wicked gay and you can't durrhunt with rifles.
Connecticuck living in Marxichusetts temporarily. FID appears to be a straight forward process, just be able to pass a background check and take a safety course, pay 100 shekals, wait etc.
LTC is the worrying one. It's may-issue, and your local police chief can put restriction on your licence.
It's kind of funny, CT is a shall issue CCW state for some reason. It's one bright spot in a sea of darkness.

I'm from NJ too. I often feel that this is not only the least free state in the country but the laws might actually be more restrictive than most of Europe. Seriously fuck this place and I'm out of here in a year or two myself(after guns are banned on the federal level probably)
California here. May have to move to upstate NY soon for school. I'll know by 7/1.
If I get a gun after I move to NY will I still have to go through a CA FFL? I can't change my residency for a variety of reasons.

That's it. There's a bunch of laws about transportation and storage that you should ask the safety course instructor about. Improper storage of a bangbang stick is a felony here.

good pick in NY. If you do change your residency eventually then counties upstate are much more likely to provide pistol permits with unrestricted carry.
