Somebody paid money to patent this.
>>30331613
Is an AR buffer tube even strong enough for this to work?
>>30331613
Heh, the 80s were weird ti..
>2. June 2016
Oh.
>>30331613
Wny bot take a mosin nagant and use the actual sturdy stock and make that the strong axe rifle that actually can't be broken in half like that rifle
>>30331613
You never know when the zombie apocalypse will happen, so you can start selling fire axes mounted on left handed ar's.
>>30331621
I have faith in the tube, I do not have faith in the threaded aluminum portion of the receiver.
>>30331621
i'd be more worried about the receiver castle
>>30331621
Not even remotely.
Patent abuse is a large problem in America.
a guy could have drawn them up for fun in his basement, but then another guy got a copy and ran like hell to the patent office just in the hope of securing an easy future.
It doesn't matter who or why made the patent. just who's name is on the form.
Of course, this is just a guess at an unknown situation. so maybe some guy really thinks this is a good idea.
>>30331635
>multipurpose utility nuggets
I need it
>>30331621
I want the crowbar one
>>30331675
Some guy ran like hell to the patent office and wasted a couple hunnid bucks
That ain't a new thing.
>>30334296
See I feel like that would work better on an AK because it's a more solid attachment to a steel receiver.
But an AR buffer tube is held on by threads on an aluminum receiver that doesn't have nearly the strength you'd want for that.
>>30331613
The main problem is that he made a gun with an axe instead of an axe with a gun.
>>30331613
is it a fireaxe or a firearm?
>>30331675
Fuck running, i'll just submit online
>>30334296
seems like a good way to inadvertantly slice your arms open and die of bloodloss
>>30331675
I totally agree.
>>30331613
>a weapon to surpass metal gear
>>30334245
*couple thousand
>>30331613
>>30331621
I feel like this is just a newer, purer and truer form of "patent trolling."
>>30331613
this is about the dumbest thing I have seen in my life
>>30331613
Someone stole this from an Agents of Shield episode, except they used a shotgun in that episode.
>>30331613
>Metalheads
>>30334333
yeah, no. for a milled one maybe but a standard stamped reciver s going to get fucked right quick. either way this is a shit idea
>>30334351
sheeit, we got a mother fucking Confucius here
>>30331613
wow can't wait to see this in another anti "assault weapon" chart pointing our the grenade launcher and bayonet lugs, actually want to make it now for trolling purposes...
>>30331613
If the top of the axe head was rounded off and even pressed with leather so the shooter wouldn't injure himself, it is possible. Or you could have a special sheath covering the whole axe head - maybe with some 5.56 slots to hold some extra cartridges - and in a hurry pull a pin and the spring contained sheath flies away and you can swing your axe freely.

I am going to give him sooooo much shit.
>>30331613
we could troll the fuck out of some antis with this, 10x more deadly ar-15, when terry runs out of ammo they have a deadly assault axe.
Kind of similar, but much more practical and not retarded.
>>30338326
>Hand guard
No you dunce thats the shoulder thing that goes up.
>>30339231
the name of the guy in garland is actually really familliar.
>>30339304
It can be used to defend mass shooters while they are reloading infringement-capacity clips. This clearly means hillary should ban all semi-assaultomatic wmds
>>30339528
Can someone explain this meme to me
>>30339383
That one's still retarded. What benefit does it offer over having a C96 and a separate hatchet. That thing is bound to do a shit job as a stock, and it's not like one of the true-blue stocks that double as a holster. It seems more like a bored armorer's idea of a joke than anything else.
>>30339963
you get a stock and a hatchet, when you need to use the hatchet part you take it off and use it individually, it's actually pretty elegant
>>30339831
Some dumbfuck california politician getting destroyed in a live interview when someone asked her what a "barrel shroud" was that made it so deadly she needed to ban it.
She responded that the barrel shroud was "The shoulder thing that goes up" and the interviewer gave her a disappointed look and said "No, it's not."
>>30331613
OP that's a pre-grant publication of a patent application, not a real patent hence the pub. no.
I can't find if this has been actually patented yet. It looks like it was just submitted. You can throw your money away filing patent applications for obvious or silly inventions, they're just likely going to get rejected.
>>30334351
>>30331613
We finally find out what a "shoulder thing that goes up" is, and why it is so dangerous.
>it's a fucking axe
>>30331613
> grab AR go innawoods
Add a chainsaw bayonet and you're good to go ... tactically fight forest fires
If you put that on an AR puistol, would it count as a stock?
>>30342115
you might have a hard time explaining to the ATF how an axe is helping you stabilize the pistol with your hand
>>30340301
Obviously the gun with the sword
>Can aim face and shoot
>Sword with gun can have arm cut off and is essentially disarmed (LOL)
swordfags need not apply
>>30342139
I think the ATF would have a hard time explaining how an axe in anyway makes a viable shoulder stock.
>>30331627
People still do cocaine in 2016
Some more than others
>>30331621
With a bit more design work (Perhaps a multitool) and some weapon modifications, this may be useful for troop applications.
>>30331627
Nobody would have thought this was a good idea without Halo.
