The F2000's came from Libya. Gaddafi ordered them years ago and then the "rebels" captured them. Of course, when rebels need money, they'll move weapons elsewhere and the weird weapons are always the first to go.
Plus an F2000 is ideal when you have neighboring Iraq with plenty of surplus 5.56 and STANAGS left from the American occupation and arming of the "Iraqi Army"
