To make a depends how close you want to get your clone. You can go exact, or you can get close enough that all the important parts are covered.

For a "close enough" clone. Get a prebuilt rifle like a 6920 or an M&P or someshit with a front sight post. Then get this handguard as an acceptable substitute for the KAC RAS. http://midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=64

After that you'll want to get a Matech backup rear off of Ebay for like $3-40. And a sling adapter that goes under the FSP. Figure out how to rig that sling up. I never actually did it myself.

You now have a basic bitch M4 clone, minus an optic.

If you want to get a real deal optic, you'll want either an Aimpoint Comp M4, or a Trijicon ACOG 4X RCO.

If you are looking for a "close enough" optic, a Primary Arms prism scope or a Vortex Strikefire 2 will be fine.
>>
Need a few more things to finish up my AR build:

Like he said, molecular grade idiocy.

In an era of muzzle brakes being widespread and generally accepted there is no reason to hang an extra pound off your effectively pencil barrel for almost zero gain.

In the era of the A1 birdcage it provided an extremely slight reduction to muzzle rise.

>Heavy Barrel. The light weight barrel of the MI6AI is prone to external
pressure, and our firing tests have revealed large differences in bullet
strikes based on these stress extremes, i.e., a hasty sling as opposed
to a bipod position with downward pressure (see Figure 13). It is proposed
that only sufficient weight be added to the barrel at the receiver and midbarrel
to help the barrel bend problem and that this be coordinated with a
more securely fastened handguard to help provide rigidity while retaining
light weight. A heavy barrel has been tested and there may be plans to
incorporate it as a preplanned product improvement if it proves to be adequate; however, the goal is not a heavy barrel, but the elimination of serious bullet
displacement resulting from various holding positions. Another consideration
must be to retain sufficient cooling air space, already reduced, between the
barrel and the handguard.
I certainly hope you're not trying to argue in favor of the current government profile.

>>30285665

Just look up the stuff on Google and decide what looks better, that's mostly what it comes down to between all of these. Stock and grip installation are vegetable tier, as long as you have a screwdriver (and preferably a hex wrench set) you'll be able to do both.
Anyway, if you have absolutely no idea what you're doing, then forget about freefloating. Just buy a drop-in carbine length handguard (that's the length that will fit your rifle) from Midwest industries.
Or, if you have no idea what to do with RAILZ, just keep the stock handguard, no need to get shit you won't use.
The main question is what do you want from your rifle. All of the "what buy" goes from there.

Anyway, $100 should suffice for the stocks and grips I listed. $200 will get you that and a handguard.

Then why are you here???

There are a million other forums that will spoonfeed you exactly what you are looking for, hell, a quick google search of those hard to understand "acronyms" would reveal a line of products that you are looking for.

Sounds like you should just go shoot your new gun first, git gud, then re-assess your priorities.
>>
>>30285765
Thanks for responding.

What I want from my rifle is comfort. I've shouldered a M&P sport without an adjustable stock and it was waaay too tight. I was breathing sulfur the whole time shooting it. The ruger has an adjustable stock so I thought I was good there, but you guys are saying I should go aftermarket (if you could explain why that'd be great). I've seen stocks with rubber padding and I think that's what I'm looking for.

My biggest concerns are compatibility. I don't want to buy something that won't fit. It's my understanding that anything "ar-15, mil spec" will fit my rifle correct?

I've looked at the magpul furniture set and that looks like a good buy. Brownells seems to have what I need as far as that goes. I don't have any tools though, so a recommendation a tool kit would be awesome too.

Again, I appreciate your time.

Just ordered my first lower to finally get that out of the way. In case something does end up changing from a legal standpoint, what should I be getting next for my build? I was thinking about a handful of standard cap magazines but I figured you seasoned ARfags would know better.

I would have bought everything in one go but I'm on a budget. Should have all the parts by autumn.

>if you could explain why that'd be great

The stocks I've suggested feel leagues better than the carbine stock the Ruger has from factory, and you can get a much better cheek weld with the STR or Sopmod. The rubber padding on AR stocks, if present, is mostly to provide traction between your shoulder and the stock.

It will fit, don't worry. The only mistake you might have made is buying a commercial stock instead of mil-spec, but that's increasingly less likely these days since commercial tubes are dying.

If you have absolutely no tools, buy a big, quality made bit set with flathead and allen heads and preferably torx and phillips ones, too. And a wrench like pic related (or a T shaped one).

A couple years back you could reliably get C7 uppers, dunno why they're suddenly unobtanium. Only reason an anon here was able to get one was because I sold him the one I had collecting dust in a parts chest.
>The Brownells seems good, guessing it's the same as Nodak Spuds.
They are, but I seriously think they get NDS' blem receivers, if mine is any indication. There's also a couple imperfections in the milling. They were even retarded enough to send it without the dust cover rod holes drilled out, so be sure yours is actually complete when you get it. Brownells has been shitting the bed a lot lately from what I'm seeing.

No. The support they provide is inconsistent by the very nature of the components and their relation to the barrel. Remove all of them and I can all but guarantee everything will stay the same or you'll see a very slight improvement.

Nothing really man. If you want the best possible red dot in that price range my money goes to Primary Arms.

I'd honestly stick with irons and hold out until you can get into the MRO price range at least though. Cheap red dots will take care of you for close stuff just fine, but adjustments get suspect when trying to fine tune the zero. I swear the primary arms micro I have likes to randomly jump between 1/2 MOA, 1 MOA and 2 MOA adjustments per click at random.

Hey guys, I have a quick question:
To explain a bit, Canada ALWAYS grandfathers guns that get banned. Every time in history, so some lucky faggots from the 80s still even have full-autos and full auto licenses up here.
We had a petition backed by a representative which, due to INCREDIBLY poor timing, went before parliament yesterday to de-restrict the AR15.

This seems to have had the opposite intended effect, the proposition getting immediately slapped down, and reminding libtards that we are still allowed to own these SCURRY KILLIN MUSHEENS.

So because I foresee a total AR ban on the horizon, I want to buy an AR while I still can, so that if a ban DOES occur, I will have a license that allows prohibited firearms.
Logically this would mean buying the cheapest possible stripped lower, but JUST IN CASE the ban only allows me to keep what I already have...

Tldr: What is the highest quality, objectively best lower available on the market. As in, if you could only have one lower ever, what would it be?

If you typically have the stock extended that far you might consider sliding the cheek piece back to match your face. It'll limit how short you can collapse the stock, but it'll give you a better cheek weld when extended. I ended up getting rid of my UBR because of that gap.

No

>without having to buy rail sections
Considering the money you save not buying rail section you don't need(quad rail) that is not an issue.

And then you spew retarded opinions again because you can't actually justify your retardation

Fuck I didn't even think of that.
Holy tits.
Thanks, ARG.

And if my plan was to buy one with the most rigorous QC available, and like, 9 of the cheapest metal ones?
Any manufacturers stand out as the tits amongst the rest?

So I bought a FDE magpul buttstock to go with my AeroPrecision. FDE build. Well the tans aren't matching up too well and it's noticeable. I bought the buttstock off of brownells website and I don't want to pay to mail it back for a return.

My plan is to go to Academy and buy a black one and then put my tan one in the box and return it.

Do you think I can get away with it? Or does anyone have any other suggestions.

machining more than "push a button and walk away"

if you want high quality i can only personally vouch for mega arms. their fitment is perfect. their machine shop is VERY precision oriented. i'm sure there are others out there however.

Is that a kms for not using a trip?
>>
>>30286769

I wasnt arguing, I was pointing out the facts. You thinking the rail is heavy indicates that you're a vagina, negating your opinion (which it is) that Magpul is desirable over a quality quad rail.

While we're at it, show us how the MOE has more, or better attachment options than a quad.

>No

Also not an argument.

See how it goes both ways?
