The irony here is that, it is the American designed and made parts (the intercooler and recuperator) that cause the power faults.

You have 30 seconds to post a ship that used it's anchor more than once and it isn't rusting.

Military love for neatness is one thing. Attempts to deny the principles of physics and chemistry are another entirely.
>>
>>30270500
Chinese military ships may look like rusting but they are not. They use superior metallurgy that has no analogue anywhere in the world.
>>
>>30270608
It doesn't matter how superior someone's metallurgy is. If it has iron in it, sea water fucks it up.

Most ships do not show the level of rust this ship does.

The fact that this is a brand new ship is sad.
>>
>>30269643
What else would you make an anchor from other than steel though? It needs to be dense (in order to work), strong (so as not to fall to bits) and cheap (so it doesn't bankrupt the navy each time they loose one). That rules out just about every non ferrous metal. Inox would be far to expensive, galv would be useless unless you had divers lay out 10 tons of packing peanuts on the seabed every time so it doesn't get scratched.
>>
>>30270695
They could coat the anchor and chain in a protective, tough coating like the rest of the world does to prevent (or reduce) the shit stain comeing out of the hawsepipe

Hahah, these stupid chinks still actually arrest people that are found out having taken part in the protest. Hell you sure bet you're ass i would have taken part if I lived in such a shit hole, too bad they never received some guns to fight back, and perhaps some Molotovs.
>>
>>30271348
So what are we going to do? Judge the effectiveness of navy by how much rust-scrubbing duty they do on their ships? Gorshkov also wasn't launched yesterday on that picture.

>>30271364
> Hell you sure bet you're ass i would have taken part if I lived in such a shit hole
And you would be ded.
>>
>>30271367

You can take it as an indication of build quality, that a ship before it has been commissioned has already very visibly rusted.
>>
>>30271367

I don't judge a navy by that, all we can tell is that the USN does a better job of keeping their ships rust-clean than the VMF.

And that's all that means. Whether someone wants to infer something from that is their business.
>>
>>30271364

Gorshkov was launched a year before that in 2010.

The fact is every metal in the Sea Rust. There's no technology in the world that solve this problem.

I'm sure all the dead people would agree with him. Resistance makes sense when it has chances to succeed. Otherwise it's nothing but pointless violence and death.
>>
>>30269678
This is why you don't use fram filters.

Also the ship has 2 Diesel engines, and then 2 LM2500 gas turbines, as well as 4 smaller diesel generators. I don't think the ship HAD to be towed back, it's just that they didn't want to fuck up the diesel engines anymore than they already had.

I'm not saying it's not a ship of problems. The companies in charge of working together on the project (Lockheed and GD) split and became competitors halfway through. GD said fuck you on maintaining the ship as well so whoever is doing it in the interim is probably not doing a great job.

confirmed to know nothing of the political situation back then.

80s China was pretty liberal and lots of pro-western cadres were in power back then, which is why those students could even think about starting a protest.

The only result those protests had was that Deng Xiaoping saw that people are ungrateful fucks for his reforms and were never satisfied with what they are provided with.

Nowadays, no Tiananmen would be possible, as public gathering for political purposes are strictly banned. It wasnt that case in the 80s.

>>
>>30269664
Not due to rust. More specificly, most modern ships use various paints and coatings to weather proof their ships. Rust is a sign that someone isn't doing their job.

More to the point, iron will rust straight through. Unlike copper and it's alloys, iron and steel don't form a tough patina so when they rust they're actually crumbling at a slow rate. It's not a problem in the short term but in the long term it's a threat to structural integrity.
>>
>>30270500
You see all that blue crap? That's weather proof paint. They coat all the metal surfaces they can with it to keep the seawater from destroying it.
>>
>>30271367
Arguably, we can say they are less diligent with the upkeep of their ships.
>>
>>30271494
Pure, important titanium.

From Russia.

During the Cold War.
>>
>>30272058
Structural integrity?? Have you ever been near a war ship? The sides are dented and twisted all along the sides. Not from tugs, or collisions from other ships. but from fucking waves. Water is hard, when waves are coming up over the flight deck, they hurt.

3 were from the wheels/brakes
1 was a trainer
1 was due to the hilarity that the engines required twin big block v-8s to start if at a full stop or low rpm. So a low speed stall meant they couldn't restart the engines.

Extremely thick pieces of iron/steel can rust and use the surface oxidation as a passivation layer in much the same way aluminum "doesn't rust". The oxide layer is thick enough to actually protect the underlying material.

The Kmart Building in Troy, MI is made in this manner where rust protects the structure and the dark red color is obviously rust.

I also print out bootleg plate tags on my computer and tape them to my plate.

You would jeopardize lives and risk your rights to own firearms because you're too cheap to properly register your vehicle and buy insurance.

Scum.
>>
>>30277719

How am I jeopardizing lives you dirty piece of shit?

I have enough money to replace my own vehicle at any time, and if someone manages to hurt themselves by running into me that's on their insurance. If in the unlikely event I cause an accident and hurt someone else, it's their responsibility to insure themselves if they are taking the risk of driving on public roadways. If I hurt myself in a car accident, I have health insurance that I pay for myself.

I might be risking my legal ability to own firearms, but certainly not my right.

Sorry you're so deeply cucked by the state. Get fucked.
