Looking at google trends for common search terms I'd use when buying guns and ammo, we're actually in a slump.
Most people who were buying arms did so between December 2015 (this is actually the biggest spike in arms-related web searches since sandy hook, and is comparable to the 2008-09 obama election), with a slump around march, and then picked back up in april. We're on the other side of that "hill" now, so I'd say the buyer's market is at saturation, and the supply side is well stocked and ready.
The real question: wtf happened in december last year to make people want guns? I can't remember back that far...
