We recovered a round identical to the right one in Death Valley during a project, save that the tip is corroded. Its american and WW2 vintage, aircraft 20mm is not bad, though I heard someone say it was an AT round.

Just make sure your dad doesn't do anything dumb like sell them to a pawn store for 1/8th of their value. P08s were being phased out by the Germans in WW2 for the P38, Browning hi powers or even M1911s. I doubt you could get the exact story about them, but they are likely captured from surrendering or dead German officers who were issued them at the start of their career.
