I just laughed because they referer to the AR-15 as a military-grade assault rifle, and it made me think of the picture where there were arrows pointing to the different parts of an AR with shit like "collapsible stock increases accuracy to sniper-levels" or something like that.

For the sake of not making a new thread.
Picking up an entry AR-15 this week. It's between a Ruger AR556 and an S&W M&P Sport II. They appear to be mostly on par with each other, but I'm curious about the twist rates. The AR556 has a 1:8 while the M&P has a 1:9. I don't plan to be doing much outside of casual range firing at 100 to sometimes 200 yards with likely 55gr bullets since those seem to be the most common and cost efficient. With this kind of use, does the twist rate even matter?
Serious question what if I filed off the hook on the disconnect and held down the trigger after a shot? Wouldn't the hammer come back down allowing me to fire in full auto?
