What do you think of having a 5.56mm DMR in today's warfare? I mean, right now 2 types of warfare that are pretty prevalent; urban warfare and jungle warfare.
These two seemingly different kind of warfare do share one thing in common; engagement range. Both urban and jungle warfare are fought in very close range, so having a big DMR would be redundant imo.
Philippines have successfully implemented such rifle. It's called "Marine scout sniper rifle"

DMRs pretty much only exist for places where 5.56 won't cut it, so no. Even the US Army with its institutional hard on for 5.56 still uses 7.62x51 REAL FUCKIN' NATO for DMRs.

I love my 5.56 DMR its accurate out to 600 yards (that's the furthest it could take it it might be able to do more) though It looses most of it's steam past 400 yards even with 77 grain SMKs. It makes up for that with lighter weight and recoil as well as sub minute accuracy. It will be used to great effect during the beta uprising. 10/10 raifu would recommend

i keep hearing that but i can easily keep it on an 8" gong at 400 yards. obviously a 308 or something would better suited to those distances but the 5.56 can still reach out there accurately enough land lethal hits. if it hits a chest cavity or brain or testicle or even an aureola it wont need to fragment to drop you dead

Are stainless steel barrels good? I am looking at PSA shit. I was looking at all the CHF stuff because lurking on k told me that was good.
But i see the stainless shit on sale. So I assume it is bad?

What is the downside? I mean all the Stainless i see is to cheap compared to CHF to make me think it is a good choice

Dmr is a designated marksman rifle. They usually have 20 inch barrels and higher powered scopes iirc.

PSA stainless steel are cheaper barrels and easier to manufacture than their chrome lined FN barrels which is part of why they're super cheap
they'll still be accurate but may not last as long as other offerings

If its sitting in a safe it's fine, stainless really isn't an ideal barrel material , it wears faster, heats up more, but y'know, trade offs
