Hello k/k/komrades...
I'm thinking of buying a Bersa Thunder 380. I've got some spare change and want to get something fun. I've always wanted a Walther PPK, but we're not allowed to have those here in Commiefornia. Because Jews.
Any opinion on these little hand-cannons?
How about the M&P Bodyguard 380?
How does the Bersa Thunder 380 compare to a PPK?
What's your favorite ultra-compact pistola?
>>30235770
>What's your favorite ultra-compact pistola?
North American Arms revolvers
I don't really trust semi autos at either extreme when it comes to size
this classy lass makes me want to unload and show clear....and bump
>>30235801
THAT is a good looking gun. Can you be more specific as to a model you like and have experience with?
There are a lot of YT vidz about the Bersa Thunder...It seems surprisingly well liked for a gun that is $285 new. I haven't really heard too many complaints.
here we go....
one more time
Bought this for $200 promptly traded it, but it's fun to shoot
>>30235880
what is it? I'm a bit of a gun noob. Trying to learn more so I can get prepared for the inevitable race war.
>>30235895
Kel-Tec P32
I would not use this to seriously defend myself
it is a neat modern .32 ACP pistol though and they're usually cheap
>>30235880
That was probably the least fun gun I've ever shot. You need to shoot more anon, that thing is garbage.
It's big brother is great for a CC though.
>>30235907
Good to know thanks.
I've heard that the higher-end modern 380 ammo would work in a self defense situation?
Thoughts?
I shot a Beretta Pico recently and the fucking thing jammed constantly on every type of ammo we fed through it. It was new too.
>>30235823
>Can you be more specific as to a model you like and have experience with?
the one I got is the Sheriff model. it has a 2.5" octagon barrel, and cylinders for .22wmr and .22lr.
it comes with what they call the "boot grip" but the same grip can also be bought separately and will fit any of the .22wmr size frames.
NAA revolvers come in barrel lengths from one inch to six inches. I picked the Sheriff because 2.5" was the longest that would fit in a pants pocket, because the boot grip is large enough to get all four fingers on if you hook your pinky at the back, and because I liked the sights and the octagon barrel
>>30235922
>you need to shoot more
I'm used to revolvers and this recoils very lightly which I found pleasant, I shoot often enough to be decent
>shots at 5, 7, and 15 yards
>>30235963
Those are sweet! Going to have to add them to my Christmas list quite possibly. Thanks!
This was another consideration...M&P Bodyguard with Crimson Trace.
But I've been told the Crimson Trace lasers on these are usually way off. Can you adjust a built-in laser so it sights correctly?
Look at this thing... NAA "Pug"
Looks like fun. Odd looking design, but kind of in a good way.
>>30235994
>>30236001
Those look fucking sexy. I'd love to dual wield them at a Trump rally.
this is what I normally carry
>>30236027
Definitely going to add a S&W wheelgun to the collection this year.
I always carry an extra mag though...I really would miss the ability to reload quickly.
Do you feel comfortable with only six shots?
My reason is that basketball-americans usually travel in packs.
>>30236038
>>30236038
>six shots
>the revolver actually has 5 shots I just named the file for convenience.
I have 2 speed-loaders with +P JHPs, it does take more practice to reload than a mag, but I prefer a revolver to a semi-auto because of pocket shots and I can press it into people and not have the gun go out of battery. I am comfortable with 5 it just means I have to aim better.
>nb4 muh rounds
>nb4 tacticool drills and reloads
>>30236058
Cool thanks. I'm going to need a lot more practice before I feel comfortable CC'ing a wheelgun. I'll get there eventually.
>>30236063
if you want a good first pistol you may want to look at
it's easy to see if it's loaded,
ammo isn't usually expensive (unless it's a .44)
It's kinda fat but it's not a bad gun to have.
you can find them for cheap
up to you Anon, just my .02
>>30235925
With self-defense handguns, calibers from .380 to .44 mag are roughly equivalent in real-world scenarios. Somebody actually went and did real maths on actual shootings:

>I don't really trust semi autos at either extreme when it comes to size
You dont trust fixed barrel blowback?
>>30235770
Held one a few days ago at Bass Pro. Shit seemed pretty cash and light as fug when compared to my dad's PPK. It was also cheaper than I expected.
>>30236083
>it's easy to see if it's loaded,
Many small compacts have a loaded chamber window or indicator because you needed on to get on the safe pistol list.
my lc9 had a big obvious red popup. When i upgraded and traded in to the lc9s it changed to a little window because when the mad that the safe pistol list was not accepting new stuff because politics.
>>30235801
I love guns with octagon barrels. Wish there were more of them.
>>30238154
Get the CC version. The hammer and the beavertail got bobbed for a very nicely profiled gun for carry.
>>30235980
NAA also makes the Companion series, BP versions of their basic guns.
I own a Bersa Thunder 380, Ruger LCP, S&W Bodyguard, and a KelTec P32 (among others). I can honestly say the Bersa is the least unpleasant to shoot, but would prefer the S&W for CC (which you specify). Just my .02.
>>30235770
Bersa Thunder .380 owner. I like mine. No issues so far. Only a couple jams with a shitty promag.
>>30235963
>meormyson.jpg
>>30239077
Didn't specify*
>>30235770
My Bursa Thunder 380 fell apart internally after about 4 mags. No one could fix it...now it sits in 25+ pieces in a box.
Don't.
>>30235801
>I don't really trust

>>30235770
Taurus curve?
>>30239475
single action only. firing pin rests between chambers. there's no gun safer to carry without a holster.
>>30236027
>>30236058
Here's a good example to wind up dead if you ever actually have to use your gun in self-defense
>>30239502
>Carrying a single action revolver
Considering dindus even have hipoints, even if they're 10% as accurate as you, they'll have ten rounds on you before you have maybe 3.
>>30239502
>there's no gun safer to carry without a holster
Bullshit. Just an idiot that thinks DA/SA is just too darn complicated durr
>>30239530
did I miss something?
is this a carry gun thread or an ultra-compact pistol thread?
>>30235807
You wouldn't impress her with your sub-compact weaponry :^)

>I hate Semi Autos
>posts .22LR revolver with 1" barrel
Enjoy dem balistics
>>30239845
I don't hate semi auto pistols.
just ultra compact semi auto pistols in ultra compact cartridges and enormous semi auto pistols in enormous cartridges.
I like revolvers of all sizes.
also it's 2.5" barrel.
dem balistics be pretty gud mang https://youtu.be/q-cqNCGnx_o?t=2m28s
>>30239563
>this argument's getting too hard for me to come up with valid points
>better pull the ol' semantics card
Yeah, because ultra-compact pistols were expressly designed for anything other than concealment/carry
I owned a 1956 West German Walther PP for a while. Beautiful gun, with the worst double action trigger I've ever felt. Girlfriend has a Bersa Thunder 380, and I like pretty much everything about it better except that it isn't as cool.
Never fired the Bodyguard, but I've shot an LCP, which is of similar size, and it's a bit of a challenge to get good shots off, especially at distance.
The Bersa and G42 are probably my favorite small 380s, as well as the CZ83
>>30240009
this was an ultra compact pistol thread. I posted an NAA because they're the most ultra compact pistol around. I carry mine in my pajamas since it's so light it doesn't even sag an elastic waistband.
if you're looking for a carry gun and/or actually expect to need it I'd suggest getting a full size handgun, a good holster, and dressing around it.
>>30235770
My favorite pocket compact is a tie between the East German PPK and pic related. I own and have extensively shot both and while the PPK looks better, the pic is a more accurate and better shooting gun in my hands.
>>30235935
The gun being new might actually be why that happened. Sometimes guns, especially tiny ones with heavy springs, need a break in period before they'll function properly; it sucks.
I enjoy my S&W Bodyguard. The recoil is very manageable. I'd rather be able to actually hit my target than walking around with a 45 of that size and having all of that recoil.
I also have a Ruger LCRx for CC.
>>30235807
Don't mind us, just hanging out in the reflection
If you're in commiefornia you won't be able to get a S&W Bodyguard unless you get a used one through a PPT.
I've heard mostly good things about the Bersa, and a couple instances if them being to be sent back for repair but those seem few and far between.
The Ruger LC380 and Sig P238 are also available in CA, the LC380 for around $450 and the 238 in the $600 range.
The Ruger comes with one mag and a soft pistol rug, the Sig comes with a hard case, one mag, and a pocket holster. I like the Sig the most, personally.
>>30235935
I've had good luck with mine, 700-ish rounds through it, got it about a year ago.
>>30239479
If she had a palmetto/moon tattoo on her rear thigh and was drinking out of an open container on that beach this picture would be everything South Carolina represents in my mind.
>>30235770
"Pocket pistols" are memes. .380 is anemic. Bersa is in the same league as Hi-Point.
Just don't man.
Just bought pic related in .380 ACP for $200.00 freedom dollars, does anyone know if the standard 9x18 makarov magazine is compatible with .380?
>>30241121
That's a guy. Congrats, you're gay.
>>30235770
I absolutely love my PPK/s. She's an early Interarms import made by Manurhin for Walther.
The only non Sig / HK / CZ I own currently.
