I don't play video games anymore but I watch youtubers. I've been watching Rainbow Six Siege and wondering if the weapons and tools would actually work in real life.

Anything large enough to cover the legs would be too heavy to hold with one hand. Even most smaller shields are too heavy to hold with one hand for extended periods. Lead guy in a team might have a shield to protect himself and buddies, not going Rambo on his own. Most shields also are rated IIIA as far as I know and level IV shields are rarely carried
