I'm wanting to build a rifle similar to a mk18. I'm not looking to clone it, I just want a rifle that has equivalent features.

Sure.
Stainless steel is easier to machine. As a result, it can IN THEORY produce a more consistent barrel. More consistent barrel=more accurate barrel. There's a reason why 100% of the famous accuracy-barrel makers use it.
HOWEVER:
1--being easier to machine means every hackjob, fly-by-night barrel maker out there will use it, as well as being the budget barrel material of choice (easier to machine=cheaper to machine). These are rarely good barrels.
2--they don't last as long. Stainless is less wear resistant than 4100-series carbon steel (and doubly so for lined/CHF carbon steel, though those processes aren't exclusive to carbon steel).
Pretty much the only company I know of that makes a truly match-grade 4100-series carbon steel barrel is Pac-Nor, and they want your firstborn for just the barrel blank.

The Ballistic Advantage 10.3" factory port is 0.073, I assume it would have run wonderfully, but I opened it up for use in conjunction with the WAR Upper and an SLR block to fine tune for suppressed/unsuppressed.
Does anybody own a Norinco CQA ar15 or have any experience with it. I'm thinking of buying my first semi auto rifle and these are the cheapest ar15s on the market where i live. The only problems i can find online is that the older models had painted receivers, but the new ones are anodized.

The specs are alll over the place, so most drop-in parts won't be really drop-in and you might have issues with some mags. What rate are you trying to go? If you can go ME. Any other rate you will need to do some LE to get to the counter terrorist stuff. Usually strictly LE units take people who have been to boarding officer school and to go there you need to be at a small boat station or a white cutter. Your best bet is a small boat station because cutters usually only send officers to the school and not enlisted. After that try and go to a MSST. I have a modern 20 rounder from Brownells (ASC or something) and it's absolute dogshit Doesn't load smoothly and the 20th round has to be mashed in, leaving no room for the follower to move down, and therefore can't be seated on a closed bolt. Mine load smoothly and can be seated on closed bolt with ease, but the floorplate is modern type and the middle groove goes all the way to the floorplate (also they're wider and less sharp than they're supposed to be). Triggers my autism, I want at least one actual surplus mag and the old flatter LSA bottle.
Anyway, the rifle really seems not to have been shot at all.
The recoil spring is actually a couple mm longer than the rifle spring I ordered to replace it, the old buffer looks less used than a new A2 buffer and the bolt's parkerizing is pretty much spotless.
The scuffs on the receiver are probably only from some Bosniak carrying it around for a couple of days, or even just from handling. The furniture was basically mint except for the two broken teeth on the right one. I replaced it with an unissued right half and they look identical.

you need a torque wrench bare minimum unless you know how much force the barrel nut needs without measuring it.
you're gonna have to attach that torque wrench to a barrel nut wrench as well. most people get an armorer's tool which looks like a giant question mark thing. in all honesty, your upper having no forward assist helps you out because no roll pins to punch in.
really truly all you need is the armorer's wrench. you could theoretically install your barrel without the torque wrench and just hope you torqued it tight enough/not too tight.
