Thanks for tuning in, to another video on Forgotten Weapons.com™.

I'm Ian, I'm here today at the Rock Island Auction Company™, taking look at some of the guns that they're going to be selling in their " insert date ™" regional auction.

And let's take a look at " insert obscure 1870 gun with no ammo available in 2016 ™ "

>repete this infinite for 5 years as an intro.

Goodness me, it's almost as if Ian has found a way to support his interest and youtube channel by leveraging his expertise in firearms history and viewership to secure access to the inventory of a business which regularly cycles through a wide variety of unique and interesting firearms in exchange for a few lines of dialogue crediting the business for its role making the videos in question possible.

What. A. Sellout.

He used to have an intro comprised of small clips of weapons firing, along with a little tune. I dunno when that got dropped.

He needs a theme song like an '80s cartoon. You know, with wailing guitars and lyrics that explain the show's premise.
>>
>>30219777
I like the no intro approach to the auction house videos.
I think the inrange videos could do with bringing that intro back however.
>>
>>30219794
To be fair (frankly), we all pretty well know what the show's about, and a "proper" intro would just be tedious.

Getting right to it is the way to go, and he gets to the meat pretty quickly.

While a lot of the firearms he reviews are impractical, there are some really interesting designs that I'd like to see recreations of.

A good example is the Bullard lever action
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aT21NrYQ6hQ

It has an interesting mechanism for a lever action. Loading is a lot easier than a side gate or henry style tube loading- you just insert the cartridges via a loading port in the bottom, just like a Mossberg 500/Remington 870/Ithaca M37/etc.

The action itself is interesting- the design should make it very smooth. I wouldn't mind a modern one in .357 or .30-30.

Geared teeth look like a BLR, kinda sorta. A channel like Click Spring reviving old designs would be amazing. Might even be able to sell the guns after to keep things running in addition to donations. Maybe even get enough interest to convince a company to start limited production of a design. Would cum buckets of Pedersoli started production on repro Burgess shotguns, tweaked to work better with plastic hulls and selling holsters.

We don't want that. We want what he always does. A condensed history of it's development. Who designed it? Who made it? What designs did it come from?

HOW DOES IT WORK. Show us the insides and Explain to us how it works and what interesting features does it have.

I say this as someone who was a no guns liberal from the Seattle suburbs. Now I own cc card(arrived yesterday) and an lc9s.

I had some interactions with guns in the past including my Chem major(material science) advisor at WSU. He had a pistol range in his backyard and at our end of the year bbq for the whole Scanning tunneling microscopy lab the senior grad student brought his week old suppressed pistol for everyone to plink with while we waited for the steaks.

But Ian converted me to Haz guns and he is pretty much the only one except c&rsenal that I watch.

I would love for him to fill in the obvious stuff people just "know".

in the meantime I'll just lurk more.

I think he would not look at at the latest offerings from shotshow 2017 in the same format as he does from the auction house.

But rather the ubiquitous that have been made since the 50s The story of the FAL, G3(although that is pretty much covered with the roller locking gerat one)etc. Or the Glock Th ruger 10/22 first made in the 60s. the remington 570 first mad in 1951. I am sure they are old enough that the answer is good history.

Come to think of It i bet the story of the glock early production would make a good RIA video if he got his hand on a prototype glock.

Karl is one of the only things on FW that actually annoys me. I remember when InRange came out I wasn't able to even finish the first episode because I already hated the guy. He also spends a huge amount of time being smug on Facebook about making fun of people who comment.

The other thing that gets me is that Ian's kind of lazy when it comes to camera and audio work. Compare and contrast the latest episode of C&Rsenal to the latest FW. Pic is the old camera set up Othais had going, it's gotten even more complicated.

Also, for your Indy viewing enjoyment:

I miss Ian's first camera guy that would get winded and sound like darth vader just from holding the camera

Or go back even further to when he had to shout everything to get over the wind noise in the mic?

I asked him in the comments of one of his videos why he stopped with the intro, he said that everyone knew what his videos were about and felt it was a waste of time

Karl grew on me, but I don't go on Facebook so his smugness doesn't affect me. Ian's camerawork is fine for what it is.

C&Rsenal is something damn special.

Yeah, a lot of people don't like Karl who don't wank to Putin. Honestly I like the AR, but do I really want to watch an incredibly annoying Wehraboo go on for twenty minutes about his krautmagic?

He never made claim to German engineering being better, an StG 44 would fail under the same conditions but an StG isn't readily available (yet).

He said himself he likes and uses AKs and his review of the Obzor actually is getting me to save up for one. It's just entertaining how angry people get at Karl as a person and project a hate of Russian weapons on to him.

He's smug and takes the internet too seriously but he obviously doesn't think German weapons are the end all be all of weapons nor does he hate Russian guns.

Ian is VERY lazy with his video editing. Like shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiet. He has himself talking over himself because he's so shitty at editing takes.
>>
Hating on Karl seems odd to me. I wasn't 100% on him when I first started watching Inrange videos, but he seems to make efforts to improve himself and never really does anything too annoying. The only things I can fault him for is occasionally talking over Ian.

I pretty much feel the same way. After i started to enjoy watching karl more, i went back and watched all the older inrange stuff i skipped.
I do admit that its kinda frustrating at first when he interrupts Ian, but he kinda reminds me of one of my mates, so I've gotten used to it.
Honestly (frankly), forgotten weapons and inrange are my 2 favorote jewtube channels

Quads have spoken, but even without them you're spot-on. I actually don't mind Karl too much, what bothers me the most about him is his vocal fixations and having to double-correct everything. Not a big deal, precision of speech is important, but it is something I notice from time to time.

would you believe that a vendor at a gun show I went to today was selling a Chink and a Yugo for nearly $1000 each? Yes, I know it's an election year. Yes, I live in Jew York. Neither fact makes those prices any less mind-bogglingly retarded.
