I want an excuse to buy a revolver.

Give me one. I wanted one as a pocket carry gun but it turns out even the smallest ones are too damn big. What's the point of getting these things? I know they're horribly outdated but I still want one for some reason...

I doubt that.
they make revolvers that will even fit in your watch pocket.
>>
>>30216721
Man your pockets must be tiny. Stop wearing jeggings with fake pockets.
>>
>>30216721
Revlolvers can be fired from inside the pocket. Sem. Auto Pistols mostly not, because the slide can't move/The spent cartridge can't be properly ejected.

Revolvers jam all the time what are you talking about it's going to go out of time reeeeee

You can load really grear .38sp +P/.357magnum ad hoc loads in an J frame for 5 shots, or go buy a .327 magnum for 6.

Not so bad compared to single stack subcompact 9mms or .380acp.
>>
>>30216769
That said, i carry a Glock 26 IWB and plan getting a Sig 238 stainless for summer.

But revolvers aint bad at all.

Too big to conceal, not viable for a dedicated defensive role. If I get a full size one it'll be a range toy and I don't have the money for toys at the moment. It has to fulfil a role. So far best role I've come up with is car gun, but they're a couple hundred more expensive than a cheap semi auto, and a car gun should be cheap because theft can occur.

>>30216769
I was going to get an LCR in 9mm. I know moon clips are a pain to conceal but you can reload your cylinder with a speed strip after you unload the first spent moon clip, giving you 10 rounds before you have to pluck out spent casings.

maybe in your jeggings pocket you androgynous faggot. you already said you can't conceal a fucking LCR, but you still want a revolver for some reason.
might as well get something fun to own and shoot, or just suck it up and get a real holster and some real pants.
>>

>>
>>30216810
I would get one if they weren't expensive. They're ugly, but look functional.

>>30216836
I wear normally fitted pants. The lcr is the size of an lc9, which by no means is a pocket gun unless you're a fatass. I think you're projecting, tubby.
>>
>>30216862
I think you're projecting, manlet.
I wear 32"x34" pants and never had a problem pocketing a J frame in any brand of jeans or slacks.
buy some real clothes faget
>>
>>30216873
I'm trying to actually conceal it. I'm 32x32, I think that's technically more stocky than you, Mr stick
>>
>>30216889
if you've only tried to pocket carry semi auto pistols I can see how you'd think they're not well concealed. a semi auto still looks like a gun shape in the pocket, but a revolver is thinner than a semi auto everywhere but the cylinder. it doesn't look like a gun so much as an inconspicuous blob, like a wallet or keys.
>>
>>30216823
You should confirm your thoughts on reloading with the 9mm. I don't think speed strips will work because moon clips are mandatory on an LCR in 9mm.
>>
>>30216907
But unless the pockets are deep the handle sticks out. I've tried it in the shop.
>>
>>30216913
According to multiple sources you don't have to use moon clips, the cylinder is headspaced. Hickok got it wrong in his video on it and thus the rumor started.

Since the round isn't rimmed however you'll have to pick them out with your nails or stick a pen through the other side and push them out. Worth it imo since 38sp is too weak and .357 is too strong.
>>
>>30216928
So if we use a speed strip, would it not slow us down in reloading to remove spent cases that way? Myself, I use golden saber .38+P's on the LCR.
>>
>>30216917
>unless the pockets are deep
and we're back to you bought the wrong pants.
the guns were designed to be pocket size you know.
>>
>>30216937
he was saying have the loaded rounds clipped so they eject easy, then reload using the speed strip.
if he needs more than ten shots he's shit out of luck anyway so fuck the reload at that point.
>>
>>30216769
>or go buy a .327fed
Where? LITERALLY NOBODY makes one (other than the 5-8" barreled, single action Single Seven), which is bullshit considering the round was invented in fucking 2007.

Ruger used to at least make the sp101 in 327 mag. Idk if it's been discontinued. Smith and Wesson made a jframe in 32 h&r i believe.

And op stop buying modern/trendy/skinny pants/jeans. I pocket carry a model 649 no problem. Get regular or relaxed fit and give your balls a breather. It even fits in the pockets of my lucky brand jeans and those have small shallow pockets.

I have an LCR in .327 Fed Mag. I've been carrying it IWB for about three months. I feel like it's a lot more concealable than a single stack 9mm. It's a really nuce shooter too. Shooting .32 SWL from it is almost like plinking with a .22, and shooting .327 Mag's it stings a little in the web of your thumb, but it's not as harsh as shooting a light .357 Mag.

I say if you want a revolver to carry, the LCR is a great choice since it has a pretty good DA trigger, it's light, and the fit amd finish is pretty good.

If you just want a revolver for shooting though, just get a used Model 10. They're pretty inexpensive, they're great shooters, and they'll give you the wheelgun experience without needing to spend a small fortune on ammo. That said, be careful, I got into revolvers with a Model 10 and now I own three, and plan on getting more.

>>30216960
Ruger LCR, Ruger GP-100, Ruger SP-101. The .327 GP-100 was discontinued sadly, and the shorter barreled SP-101 was too, but you can still get the SP-101 in .327 with a 4" barrel and the LCR with a 1.8" barrel.

>I want an excuse to buy a revolver.

theyre fun as fuck to shoot. very smooth out of the box and dont have ":break in periods" like some automatics

its a piece of history. everyone should have at least one revolver. even if its a range toy

its very easy to learn on/ help teach others on. No, I dont think everyone needs to start with one but revolvers have a simplistic feel to them

they are pretty

they are still practical for defense. maybe not the most practical in some areas but its not a fucking derringer for christs sake

unloading and reloading a revolver cylinder feels satisfying and anyone who disagrees is a liar

They aren't ammo sensitive like semi autos, so it'll still function with whatever ridiculously shitty ammo you can reload with improvised components no matter what fantasy SHTF/WROL/Nazi zombie 2pacolypse/instant 1984 situation you're thrown into. If it's just going to be a range toy, does it matter if it's a silly reason?
