Is a 22lr G36 a reasonable starting gun?

Is there a reason a bolt action might be more suitable?
>>
I'm going to assume this is a pot metal Umarex that vaguely looks like a G36 if you're blind and drunk

Eh. If it really turns you on but a Ruger 10/22 is probably better made and has more options.
>>
>>30209794
No. Get a 10/22 if you want a .22lr as a starting gun. There are hundreds of aftermarket parts for it to make it exactly how you want it to be, unlike the clone you are looking at.
>>
>>30209794
Don't waste you're cash on tacticool shit. Buy a 10/22. They sell aftermarket stocks that look like a g36 if you really want to look like a l33t oper8r
>>
>>30209794
Get a 10/22, seriously. It functions shot after shot after shot even while shooting the shit bulk box stuff. I've left the thing without cleaning for months at a time without it gumming up or failing to function. The only issues I've ever had with it was the 25rd magazines, they didn't like hollow points.

A word of advice for "mock up" 22lr guns made to look like other guns, they usually suck shit.
>>
>>30209794
The only acceptable use of such a gun is to kill yourself for having bought such a gun.

Get a normal .22 like a normal fucking person. Then save up for a big boy gun.

Get a 10/22 then get this

It should satisfy your desire for a .22LR plastic gun

10/22's are really good and like the other anons said, there are a fuckton of accesories for it.
CZ also makes really nice bolt actions the 455 series has sub moa accuracy at 50 meters and when you use minimags they can do the same at 100 meters.
Bolt action 22s are better for starters because they force you to slow down and take careful aim.
Semi auto is nice and all but if you train your marksmanship first you will not regret it.

Glad I asked here first.

I had the impression that the 10/22 was just a meme.

>>30209889
I'll see what prices I can find.

If anyone else has thoughts on the disciplining factor of bolt actions?

>>30209888
Not OP, I might get this for kicks.

Did you get that impression from /k/?

Sort of. There are dozens and dozens of 22lr rifles. Surely ruger of all companies that everyone shits on for QC and the AWB wouldn't have the best under $300.

Like it's something that's just common enough that everyone suggests it like a nugget.
>>
Why are you retards telling him to get the 10/22?

Pretty poor accuracy, the stock trigger SUCKS, they often have problems with the bolt sticking until they're shot a bit

Of course you can spend $3500 on a $350 rifle to make it better, but it's more sensible to get e.g. a CZ452/455 which is way more accurate, has an, at worst, a better trigger, and at best, a way superior trigger, and is more helpful to actually learn good shooting.

It's easy to get carried away with semi auto training. Ofcourse it's fun, but for getting your aim and breathing under control, learning to take accurate consecutive shots a bolt action is the better choice.
Also a $400 bolt action is better than most $600 semi autos.
If you buy the cheapest 10/22 and buy a tacticool stock, a decent optic and a good trigger. You will still not get the same accuracy of a $400 bolt action with a good scope. And you will be paying more money for it.
>>
>>30209794
Get a 10/22 or if you really want a gun that doesnt look like a 10/22 or work like one, then S&W make a M&P15 in .22

>Pretty poor accuracy
No, not due to the barrel anyway, but mostly becuase of the trigger and the sights

>the stock trigger SUCKS
This is true. Easily fixed with whatever budget you want. Literally anything is better than stock.

>they often have problems with the bolt sticking until they're shot a bit
It's called break in period. Some have it, some don't. Not an issue at all.

>Of course you can spend $3500 on a $350 rifle to make it better
A base 10/22 can be bought for under 200 bucks new all the time, and it only takes like 100 bucks (for tech sights and a VQ hammer) to make it into a very good shooter.

The guy can buy whatever he want, CZ and even the umarex if he really likes it. I'm just replying so the OP won't actually believe this nonsense.

OP could also just get a 10/22 and gut an airshit HK. Gut the mags to, so it won't look like shit like in the pic

I am personally selling my 10/22 as I shoot my single shot bolt action way more and will probablty replace the 10/22 with either a savage mkII, american rimfire, or CZ452/455.

how poor is "pretty poor"? I just picked one up late last year and started shooting seriously (other than some very basic shooting in scouts, trap shoots, etc) about a week ago, and with tech sights I'm hitting ~1.5MOA out to 50yd. That seemed pretty good to me considering how much inaccuracy I'm sure I'm causing with inconsistency.

I can tell the trigger would be a sticking point for some though, it doesn't even feel as good to me as the tapco G2 in my AK or the trigger that came with my fairly standard AR lpk.
