Today I walked into a downtown Army-Navy store to buy some milsurp shit so I could go play airsoft next weekend innawoods. I'm looking at some duffel-bags to see what I can fit my shitty new Mk.18 into when some shaven-head white dude walks up to the knife-counter in a tracksuit jacket. He's bones thin, inarticulate, and has two pressure bandages on the back of his head.
He's trying out a knife and checking out how he's gonna carry it. It wasn't a work knife, or a hunting knife, just a straight, double-edged, narrow tipped blade of about 3.5" with a sheath he was trying to clip onto his jean pocket. He was complaining that the blade wouldn't come out of the sheath with a tug, the sheath pulled out of the pocket instead. The Counterperson is just giving him advice but a more senior dude comes along and explains why it would be illegal to carry the knife in the way he was planning.
I walk to another part of the store and start doing some other stuff for a few minutes, don't know what happened with the skinhead. A few minutes later I've almost got all the shit I want together and another shady motherfucker walks in.
Door-counterdude greets him and he doesn't respond, just a glare. This guy looks Italian, got a fat bag of I dunno what he's carrying on his shoulder.

He asks for some change eventually. I give him a jingling, built up pile of loose coin I'm happy to part with, and he walks off after thanking me. I de-escalate, I don't start a fight or make a stink when I don't have to, and from what I've seen the hobos are getting aggressive. This one, the actual Somalian, wasn't.
Moral:
