Because from a /k/ perspective, most comics are garbage. With Manga, you get the occasional author that's a gun autist like the guy that did uppote or gunsmith cats. In the west, that kind of person rarely if ever becomes a comic book artist, therefore all you've really got to pick from is Ennis shit, which is generally embarrassingly cringey, or one offs like black powder red earth, which was ultimately a boring Magpul commercial masquerading as a story.
