Onegun here. Got the USP NIB for $650 after that sick rebate. Currently saving up for a Colt AR where I'll be taking a 20" Colt AR-15A4 upper and putting it on an AR6720 lower.

They really are. Its a fucking damn shame we can't import them anymore. I'd love one to be my go-to gun for hiking, camping, plinking, and all around pewing, but unfortunately, the ones that exist are wallhanger status now, just because of their rarity. I did shoot mine once, 20 rounds. The recoil is very slow compared to an AR, it handles more elegantly (the bipod especially comes to mind), its lighter (granted, im comparing against my 20" HBAR), the stock folds, and I have a boner for the grey/green furniture scheme.

Well, if youre still in school, study stem and get a job before the bubble pops. Programming is the easiest to get a high paying job when you graduate. If youre not, work extra shifts and set aside a budget every month to save up and NEVER EVER pull from it or shrink on it, and itll happen before you know it. For example, I operate an 800/mo gun budget. If I want something bigger, I'll save that 800 bucks and keep rolling it over until I can afford it. I was 19 but my parents are antis in CA so I did it on my own grounds. What I plan to do with my kids, just wait until they express an interest in it imo.
At a younger age, you can get them rubber band guns to knock over action figures or plink cans in the back yard or living room with little risk of someone shooting their eye out, and you can start teaching muzzle discipline and basic safety (aka dont shoot your friend/brother's eye out). From there, theres airshit I guess, but I've seen 12 year olds with .22s at the range under supervision. I figure a single shot bolt action was a popular toy for boys in the early 1900s for a reason, you can start there, eventually introduce semi autos, and by the time they are 16 and not retards, you can bring out an AR or something.
Can't emphasis not forcing them into it, but just stoking it if they seem interested. If it seems like dad is forcing you to get into his hobby, youre not going to have fun, but if it feels like dad is letting you do your own thing and just giving you a ride and some help starting, theyll enjoy it.
I'm no dad though, this is just based off my experience as a kid who got forced into a lot of "fun" stuff and ended up hating pretty much everything my parents like as a result.
