What's the best '''''''''''takedown''''''''''' rifle?

I want to pretend I'm a survivalist or james bond or something.
>>
The actual best depends on need.

-James Bond
AR-7

-Versatility
12 ga or 20 ga or .410 shotgun barrel with .22 barrel, in an over/under configuration.

-Usefulness
10-22 takedown with bx25s
>>
>>30179001
I've heard bad things about the AR-7
Apparently it starts to rattle a bit after 2000 rounds or so.
>>
>>30178642
Modern Henry brand AR-7
AR-15 if you separate the lowers.
10/22 TakeDown
>>
>>30179154
AR-7 has been made by many companies, the worst ones are made by Charter Arms, the new Henry Ones are pretty good as far as the AR-7 goes.

Now, a thing people just have to understand about the AR-7, it is NOT a plinker, it's not the kind of rifle you bring out every now and then to pop off a few hundred rounds in an evening with, the AR-7 is designed to be lightweight and compact, you're meant to practice a bit with it, to get a feel for it and how to shoot and handle it, then it's meant to go in your truck, boat or plane, with loaded magazines and some spare ammo, in case you get stranded far from civilization.

The AR-7 is a very niche kind of weapon, if you're looking for a rifle to plink with a lot, or hunting a lot of pests or other varmints, there are many better choices, like the Ruger 10/22 Take Down

This is mine, doubt James Bond would have a lowly poor man's ar build though.

Forget .22lr toys

Sauer 200 takedown with switchbarrels in that custom case.
>>
>>30179411
Can I get some info on this?
>>
>>30179631

Not him but looks like a standard or slightly shorter AR upper and lower, separated they are pretty handy to pack down.
>>
>>30179726
>>30179631

SBR or pistol. You'll have to ask him where to stock went; All I see is a buffer tube.
>>
>>30178642

Literally the AR7 for james bonding

Sure, it's NOT really a take down rifle. As such, even in this retarded dissembled state it is not any more compact that other rifles with a simple folding stock. Take down rifles are borderline retarded (unless they are rifles with LONG barrels) and pretending a standard AR is a take down rifle is even more so.

What's the point of them when modern optics are more durable than the gun?
>>
>>30179001
>10-22 takedown with bx25s
>BX-25
Ya dun goofed
You can pack 5 10rd rotaries in the space of 1 bx-25 and never have a magazine induced failure. They are also easier to load, more durable, no retarded failures like rounds getting flipped backwards because the tape spring is weak as fuck.
FUCK the BX-25
10RD ROTARY MASTER RACE

Honestly just curious about which components he picked (assuming more than already complete upper and lower assemblies), why he chose everything he did, and how much did everything cost tbqf. (and the case) (new to /k/ btw friendos)
>>
Quick shout-out for the Marlin model 70 PSS "Papoose".

I'd take a 10/22 TD over it, but it's still a very viable option.
>>
>>30179908

Etched glass Prism and you're done.
>>
>>30179887
Oh, I forgot you also don't have a useless big plastic dick hanging a mile down from the bottom of your rifle so you can comfortably fire in low prone. You can't snap a flush fit 10rd mag in half if the rifle is dropped or you strike an object with it.
Literally everything about the BX-25 and all non flush fitting 10/22 mags suck. Fucking rimlocking, jamming, weak, cheap pieces of shit that ruger is forcing down our throats.

>>
>>30178642
Everyone seems to forget that nearly every rifle can have a watertight space drilled right into the stock. With a 10/22 style .22lr you can easily drill a hole big enough to fit 100rds and some cleaning stuff.

What I am saying is the Bx-25 have an atrocious Capacity to Volume ratio, and are poorly built compared to the 10 round rotary mags.
I would pay decent money for a better BX-25 magazine.
>>
>>30178642
AR-15
>>
>>30180462
I mean you're not wrong but you forget the wasted case space from having more separate objects. I still like the BX-1s, though.

>not getting a trimag and clamping 3 10 rounders together

had one of those AR-7s and I gotta tell you it's a complete piece of shit. Seriously. Garbage.

the 10/22 takedown is every bit as good and reliable as the regular 10/22, just with the added functionality of breaking down. i highly recommend it.
