Why didn't Germany in WW2 develop an army of combat swimmers to invade England? The Channel has been swum before and it's easy to do if you have the right level of fitness. A combination of combat swimmers and an air landing would have seen England destroyed.
>>
Good luck swimming the channel with a rifle, rations and enough ammunition to actually fight.

Don't forget to hand your CV into the DoD, They always hire retards like you it seems.
>>
>>30160419
Swimmers potentially but you would have to get them accords the channel, not an easy feat for professionals let alone a guy in full gear. The number of men you would have to coordinate to get a reasonable amount across would be stupidly big. This is not taking into account the numerous allied ships patrolling these waters. As far as air invasion? Spitfire and hurricane ... nuff said.

Next time on OP's thread why didn't the nazis use Kraut space magic to defeat the Allied forces.
>>
>It's easy
Let's see you do it then
Go on, off you go

This, OP is a fucking retard.

This isnt even bait anymore. Its just some random stupid bullshit that OP has written just to see if someone responds to him with a serious post.

Guys why didn't Germany just invent the Leopard 2 during WWII?
>>

oh so in other words, bait
>>

Hitler fucked up. He believed that swimming was a degenerate Jewish activity.

You're all far too dismissive and cynical. Put a wetsuit on, attach your equipment and everything else to a small bag tied on to your leg and swim ashore.
>>
>>30160552

No. Bait is posted to get REEEEEEEE-posts from raging anons.
>>
>>30160599
I shouldn't dignify this with a response but you sir are retarded.
>>
>>30160599
Have you ever been in combat?

Beeing soaking wet and compleatly exhausted isnt really a good thing if you want to win the fight.
>>
>>30160599
>You're all far too dismissive and cynical. Put a wetsuit on, attach your equipment and everything else to a small bag tied on to your leg and swim ashore.

The world record for swimming the English channel is almost 7 hours and nearly every one of those had a boat following them to give them food and fresh water when they needed it, you want people to do the exact same thing dragging combat gear with no support then fight a battle at the end? I know this is bait and I have just bit on it but fuck it.

What if they had little mini-subs?
>>
>What is a PT-boat

Ever heard "Like shooting fish in a barrel"?

That would happen, just on a massive scale.

Schwimm-SS would get rekt by bongs in fishingboats with rifles.
>>
>>30160544
That really would have been a game changer. Hell, even something like a Chieftan would have been a game changer in WWII.
>>
>>30160660
The channel is hard enough to navigate in daylight above water and is so murky that even below water on a sunny day it'sa cunt to see in. If they were going to attempt to cross I would assume it would be at night making it near impossible.
>>
>>30160419

So you don't know how wars are fought. Thats fine. It really is.

Do you know how much shit each jumper in the Airborne was carrying when they jumped over Normandy? 100 pounds or so per guy. They needed enough food, water, ammo, weapons (both light like rifles, heavy like machine guns and tripods along with a whole stinking shitload of ammo), uniforms, along with any additional equipment.

You can have the biggest, baddest army, and it will cease to function in a few days without supplies. Any swimmer that tried to cross the channel would have to bring enough supplies to last them until they did enough damage to allow for the landing of naval craft.

But how would they have done that? Let's assume that through the use of Kraut magic Hitler trained as many soldiers to swim the channel as were trained to jump into Normandy by the allies. So about 13000. Let's say that SOMEHOW these soldiers were able to swim with the same sort of load out the Airborne jumped with, they avoided all naval patrols during their most likely more than 20 hour swim, they somehow were able to feed themselves the hot carbohydrate beverages that Channel swimmers are given by their escort boat to not simply die in the fucking water. We will further assume they are not caught up in any unfavorable currents, and they magically, against all reason, are able to navigate themselves the 26 miles between the shortest distance between France and Britain without a support boat (that all the Channel swimmers have) and don't get lost in the channel. We will assume that all 13,000 get across to the same point and these men, unobserved by any coastal defenses or air patrols designed to catch JUST this sort of sneaky infiltration, get inland into Britain.

Huzzah! Surely the allies are through!

But are they? The Airborne soldiers dropped on D-day were NEVER meant to totally destroy the Panzer divisions and march on Berlin. Thats stupid.

>>
>>30160719
I don'tmean to be pedantic but Iit's only about 22 miles at its narrowest point for swimmers to enter and exit. That withstanding it will still be an impossible task.
>>
>>30160719

The Airborne were meant to SLOW DOWN the Panzer divisions enough to allow a beachhead to be secured and artillery and armor to be brought in from the forced landings at Normandy. The Airborne would have been CRUSHED if they were all that the Allies had sent in. Any magical Nazi mermen that crossed the Channel wouldn't be able to take a proper port for the Navy to land in to give them food and ammo. They would be ground down as they ran out of bullets and food. Hitler would have wasted at the very minimum several years of intense physical training on 13,000 troops to have them swim across, thats physical training alone. They WOULD have been cut down in the water, no question about that. And if they weren't, they would just starve anyway. Much better for him to spend that time and effort of his own Airborne troops, or just training 100s of thousands of standard line troops.

C'mon /k/, honestly, the only retards in this thread are the people giving OP a serious answer....
>>

You should feel ashamed that you actually wasted energy typing that all out.
I guarantee you that OP is just sat there laughing at this point.
>>

How fucking retarded and jaded can one idiot be?
>>
>>30160911
The problem is that there will be some people that will believe op, as crazy as that sounds there are retards out there, educating people on why some plans fail isn't a bad thing. For all we know OP mayhave to write a paper given to him by some fuck nut teacher.
>>
>>30160599
>You're all far too dismissive

No, they are exactly as dismissive as the idea warrants. This is the proper level of dismissiveness.
>>
>>30160981
I disagree we were not dismissive enough because we responded
>>
>>30160419
honestly because any that made it ashore would be exhausted, freezing, lightly equipped and likely to be dealt with quite handily by the home guard, and less than 5% would be likely to make it even in the event that the attempt was completely unopposed

Not to mention that having to salute so often and vigorously made one arm stronger than the other and they all would require additional training so they would not swim in circles. This is an extremely intensive training program we're talking here.

OP got third degree burns. But the real sad thing is that someone has no life and the time to write out that much of a story to accomodate OP's thought experiment.

There are no winners here.

I feel like I won a prize to a comedy show with this thread.
>>
>>30160419
You know, people laugh, but I'm genuinely curious. Why didn't they?

The people stupid enough to plan an invasion with barges and run a logistic system depending mostly on horses must surely have been stupid enough to consider swimming it. Why didn't they develop anything towards that goal?
>>
>>30160695
Do you think compasses dont work underwater?
As long as they head north for the most part, they're gonna get to england
>>

That was out of necessity, not stupidity. They used motor vehicles as much as they could.

Because then she doesn't have her army. Silly. She had to take the khalasar of Dhrogo to have anything. Then she needed boats to cross the narrow sea, thus she broke some chains to get cities with ships. But now she needs to hold these cities, and she doesn't have the troops to hold the slaver ports AND transport her army.

Now she has the unsullied, the second sons, AND a new khalasar bigger than the one that followed Dhrogo. All she needs now is enough ships for all that stuff.

Of all the horseshit illogical choices of main characters of the show the inability of Dany to get to Westeros with an army is the least of them.
>>
Why didn't they just use deutsche physik to walk on water?
>>
>>30160476
>Kraut space magic
kek
>>
>>30163752
That is entirely dependant on where they start from, the compass while yes it will work underwater may not be visible in the incredibly low light conditions. Not to mention the undercurrent that the channel has.
>>
>>30164197
You hope he was being facetious.
