Honestly, one tattoo idea I thought was actually pretty neat was from my professor this past year; he and his wife got matching tattoos (Siamese Alligators) instead of rings. Can never lose it, it's as permanent as marriage should be, and in my case it appeals because you don't run the risk of injury like you would with a ring in a maintenance-based environment.

While I hold no angst against those who get tattoos no matter where they get them, for me personally I'll never put one anywhere that I can't cover it up easily with just a T-shirt. Mine is on the inside of my bicep, and with a t-shirt it peeks out the sleeve a bit but not enough for me to care. A button front shirt with sleeves rolled up covers it up completely so it's perfect for me.

I debated getting something to honor my grandfather because he's honestly someone I truly aspire to be like, especially now that he's gone. Then I thought about it, and realized that, while I do already have one unrelated tattoo, that my grandfather would've rather been honored in a different fashion.
