If SBRs were legal, would the market for AR pistols evaporate overnight?
>>
>>30115349
...Yes.

Why would you not want a legit stock if your going to have the buffer tube anyway?

Granted, over the past two years minimalist and ultra light stocks have been popular even on full 20" rifles where it's basically just a buffer tube cover and a couble inches below the end for bracing on a shoulder...but still having an adjustable stock is worth it.

Only thing for AR pistols would be for CCW holders using them as vehicle guns.

Again I wouldn't know living in Commiefornia, but can you CCW an SBR SBS or by law, CCW's only pertain to pistols?

More like instantaneously.

SBRs are legal you dolt.

>Only thing for AR pistols would be for CCW holders using them as vehicle guns.
That's one thing I thought of too. In my state, for example, it's legal to have a loaded pistol in a vehicle, but illegal to have a loaded (i.e., chambered) rifle in a vehicle. Since these are technically "pistols," they would be legal to keep in your truck center console in case SHTF and you needed to bug out quicker than it takes to chamber a rifle. But then again, if SBRs are legalized, maybe there would be motivation to fix other stupid gun laws too.

yep, no reason to get an AR/AK pistol if you can just SBR anything you wanted to.

Sure...Same way concealed-carry is legal in California, New York, Maryland, DC, Hawaii, and the other prison states, am I right?

Probably except for car/truck guns.

No. I'm talking state law in Utah. Maybe state law in your state too. Not a lot of people know about vehicle law and rifles.

You have a physical disability, would be the only reason I can think of.

>about the only good thing to come out of the SBR stamp/state bans: the SIG brace and similar products open up AR use to disabled folks who couldn't otherwise use one
>>
>>30115476
It may not be outright banned for everybody, but the process is convoluted, expensive and has the possibility of denial for arbitrary reasons.
>>
>>30115496
>open up AR use to disabled folks who couldn't otherwise use one
please explain
>>
>>30115349
Yeah but honestly you don't need the stock, for an ar pistol /sbr it makes absolutely no difference.

Probably, but it kind of already has; I haven't seen a buffer tube pistol build for a long time after the Shockwave came out.

Yeah but if we put that to our shoulder trying to skirt the NFA we will get raped

I don't really see the appeal of short barrels to be honest. 16" is plenty short with 223.
>>
>>30116888
Good think there are a dozen or so other cartridges available for the AR, some specifically designed for short barrels as well as 5.56 ammo made for short barrels.

You don't see the point because you have minimal knowledge of the subject
>>
>>30116888
Not every AR is 5.56/.223. 16" is the beginning of decreases in performance for 9mm, and I like my 9mm AR SBR.
>>
>>30116985
>>30116999
Fair enough, but plenty of people desire a short 5.56 and then go shoot regular ammo. They can do what they want with their rifles, I personally don't get it.
>>
>>30115349
No, they would just start selling them with the stocks attached.
>>
>>30116827
Is that an ATF thing or are we just assuming? I always wondered how the fuck that was an OK solution and not a fucking stock. It's flat, big whoop, it's pretty obvious.
>>
>>30116827
actually no, the ATF has repeatedly said that they won't prosecute unless they have something else to hit you with.

I.E. they'll charge Jamal with possession of an SBR if he's also been charged with diddling kids and dealing meth, but they WON'T charge John Smith who shouldered it one time at the range and also pays his taxes. They have bigger fish to fry, like Jamal.
>>
>>30115457
Hawaii is so shit, they don't grant anybody cc licenses. They were cited for that being unconstitutional in 2014 and are still "working on their appeal"

>If SBRs were legal, would the market for "wrist stabilizers" evaporate overnight?
ftfy

the answer to both is yes
>>
>>30116333
The reason the SIG brace wasn't nixed by the ATF is its stated purpose is for certain disabled people to use it so that they can shoot the gun. Much as non-disabled people have latched onto it as a shitty pseudo-stock, it does actually do its stated job well. Some people legit need the SIG brace, or the newer braces that other companies make.

see >>30115496, >>30117906, >>30115434

The market would shrink heavily but wouldn't be gone.
>>
Do you EVER see a "pistol" AR with a barrel 16" or longer?
>>
>>30115460
muh dick
>>
>>30117932
explain how a "disabled" person would find strapping an AR to thier arm to one hand it more comfortable than a normal rifle grip
>inb4 one hand
how do you charge the rifle or reload then

"there would be a small number of collectors and disabled people buying sig braces on the used market" does not equal a commercially viable item in a world without cuck stamps.
>>
>>30117964
On second thought, not sure this is a useful fact, since you never see pistols of any kind with barrels that long.

The weight difference between a 7.5 " barreled pistol with no stock and a 16" barreled rifle with extra weight of the stock.
Also,

I have a friend who has a full size AR and his wife uses a AR pistol just because of her small frame

why would i want a stock on this?
>>
>>30118259
and in this magical world where the ATF is burned at the stake with the pyre lit with the physical copy of the NFA, both could use a stocked sub 16" rifle instead. try to keep up.

>>30118281
why would you not? why not pop on an adjustable stock if no one would shoot your dog over it?
>>
>>30118360
because it ruins the minimalism. you are adding unwanted components that will only lead to complications.
>>
>>30118638
thats a dumb ethos
>not using a dedicated 9mm lower
>not using a side folding buffer tube
>not getting a cuck stamp for a stock
>not using an optic

well here in Canada short AR and AR pistols are classified the same way.

there are 77 AR pistols registered in all of Canada
