Can the ACR be saved?
>>
Certainly not by Remington

Maybe if they lowered the price and released those conversion kits. But nowadays just buying a new AR upper in a different caliber is cheaper so maybe not. If I ever saw one for $1200 I would buy it in a heartbeat.

No. Even Remington abandoned the ACR. It's dead Jim.

The ACR was never destined to be a great gun.
It was a "what if" side project started by a bunch of shop guys at Magpul that took off and turned into an "eh, this could work" design sold to Bushmaster/Remington.
The gun was born from hype, released to over expectation by mediocre companies, and is now fading because it doesn't live up to its competitors. The AR at a myriad of cheaper or equally priced points or the SCAR with over a decade of development both outperform the ACR in most every way and that's why they outsell the ACR and the ACR is fading.

They have a decent presence here in Canada due to AR15 registry shenanigans, however the $3000ish price tag prevents them from becoming super popular. If they were being sold at a more reasonable price I know I'd pick one up in a heartbeat.

When the MSBS hits US shores the ACR can finally die.

I actually like it.

The ACR, like all these plastic piston guns, was inferior to the AR-15 from the start.

The AR-18 was the low cost, low performance variant of the high end AR-15.

Stoner made the AR-15 superior by design.

i am confused at the picture... what is it trying to compare exactly? also is bottom right an ar18?

>1:9 twist

No, it can't be saved
>>
If you want in on the AR market, you gotta make a gun that's an actual alternative.

if it's priced like a noveske without any of the modularity, it's never going to catch.
>>
The AR-15's sheer economy of scale is going to make it really difficult to replace. It's becoming the Ameriboo's AK - for the price of its competitors you can buy an AR, ten mags, and a thousand rounds of ammunition.

Basically showing that most of the new service rifles are based on the AR-18 piston system.

>short stroke piston?
>rotating bolt?
>hurrr AR-18 clone!

When will this meme end?

I said based on, meaning not copied, but used as a starting point.
