Sad day for me /k/

>listed my ar-15s and mini-14 for sale today /k/

I had them for 5 years, bought before Obama price hike of 2012, before registration of long guns were mandatory and
Before the fire arms saftey test was mandatory for long guns.

I live too close to a school (within 2.5 miles) to own "assault weapons" in California

And with the new laws anything with a removable magazine OR bullet button is considered an assault weapon.

Spent so much time in college shooting with my buddies.

When these go, I will no longer be a gun owner.

Anyone else selling out prior to the massive changes?

I went to college out here, family is out here, work is out here, and I carved a nice life for myself out here. Have a nice home to myself etc.

It's either here or move back to Japan and both options don't allow me to own guns.

It's easier to just sell my guns like Hilary Clinton wants than to sell my home (for probably a loss) since 8 years under Obama greatly hurt the economy and getting buyers for a home worth $650k is pretty tough

This. All of these.

Do you not have parents? Do you not have friends? Assuming assault weapons are still vaguely permissible, transfer them over to a friend or, preferably, out of state, and arrange a move.

If you have a career there (Not a job, a CAREER), if you grew up there, if you care at all, now is not the time to live there. If this is your issue, if these are your ideals, it is not going to get better yet. Who knows if or when Trump gets in, but all I've heard is that Newsome is likely and he aims to make it worse.

Make your choice now, it'll be easier now. Either you love Cali that much, or you've got enough time to escape. Not both, man.

They're quickly outrunning New York and Jersey. Think of that, man.
>>
>>30080711
>>30080790
I live one mile from a public school and have registered assault weapons with no problems, who the fuck fed you that bullshit? Keep your guns.

The compliance rate with registration in CA is around 10% anyway, there's so much desert with nobody around that you can use to shoot without getting bothered.
>>
>>30080790
Then take a dive on it, move to a red state next door, then build a relatively cheap, but comfortable home. Don't know what you'll do about your job situation, but it sounds like you're pretty set. Would it be hard to apply somewhere else for the same job field?
>>
Break the fucking law. Keep it on the DL. I'm sure you know people that smoke weed. Hold onto your guns.
>>
>>30080808
>>30080790
Well, that just refreshed after all of that was written.

If you like America and guns so much, I'd say move to a red state and take this hit. It'll suck, it'll be awful, but you will be happier in the long run.

That sounds presumptuous, but if you don't care about American values or gun ownership, you might as well move back to Japan, with wholly lower crime rates and cost of living than California and definitely minus the drought.

That's my line of thinking, you've lived there. If America and guns are important, move to another state. If not, Japan would be better. California is a loss at this particular juncture.
>>
>>30080808
I have a career which is why I'm stuck.

Basically moving would mean losing equity in my home, matched contribution to retirement, breaking off ties from friends which is the main reason I got into shooting in the first place social aspect that beat going to clubs and shit like that.

I think liberals don't understand that the laws they pass affect lives.

In their minds making a gun owners life tough is on the same level as bathroom laws for tranny's and weed laws.

But that shit is just fluff

I mean it's a felony to get robbed.. it's a crime in California to be the victim of a crime if you're a gun owner...just absurd
>>
>>30080875
Well, sounds like you made your mind up to be cucked by California like so many others. That's why gun laws there suck.

It's sort of a mix.

I feel for you, man. I do. I'm an aspiring actor and creative type, and I'm going to have to deal with this shit. Frankly, I am considering just moving to western Arizona and just driving over, and frankly I think that would still be a better quality of life, overall.

Depending on where your career is and what you can find, that might be an issue. If not, go find a lawyer and try to take this shit back to them. Someone ought to. Like you said, this is affecting lives in ways they never even thought of in their lust for left ideals, so fuck them.

Make your choices. Either get over the guns, get over the ideals, or fight for them. There is no middle ground. It isn't your fault, but they won't let you have it, so make your choices.

Move to Vegas and get a job in porn?
>>
>>30080913
Yeah trump has my vote, not because of the gun issues. It's because California colleges favor "dream act" kids over citizens when it comes to student aid while the illegals who birthed the anchor babies who drain the dream act actively take jobs from hardworking Americans, send Millon's of dollars back to Mexico yearly (there are millions of illegals here) all the while avoiding taxes. So it's actually a disadvantage to be an American in America when looking at colleges and looking for work.

And that is a serious issue that Bernie doesn't understand

Seems like it's a running theme in the liberal mindset just do whatever sounds the most pretentious and not worry about the massive ramifications that other people incur from the smug bullshit.

But really, this too, dude. If you're thinking of selling them, I know your private sales thing, sell them to someone and falsify a bill of sale or something. Unless they seriously come kicking doors down, which they would not get away with unless we were REALLY fucked, then you'll be fine. Keep your guns.
>>
>>30080953

Law enforcement got the right to seize legally owned firearms in 2012?

In 2015 other branches of state governance got the right to seize firearms, social services, child protective services etc etc
>>
>>30080711
OP are you fucking stupid?
Other than getting cops on your ass in the first place, you really think they're going to come for your guns specifically?

You are literally submitting to a state in the fucking union that are walking all over the 2nd amendment.

So if California decided to pass bills outlawing certain words and any other political views that do not agree with the Democrats, will you comply as well?

Holy fuck.

Why not just pray to burn the people?
California, as a state and landmass, is quite beautiful and has a lot of variety.
It's the people and culture here, namely the major cities, that are killing the state.

Now then, OP, don't you dare sell those rifles, atleast not right now. If you're strapped for cash at least hold out until we know who's going to win the election. If hill wins wait a little longer to sell but if don wins sell ASAP. Though if your not strapped for cash, don't sell those rifles you'll regret it later andlike others have said go for a non-compliance and keep 'em.

They have the "right" if someone finds you crazy or reports you or whatever. Fourth Amendment implies you don't have to give them shit past registration documents, sell them to a friend about to move out of state.

Can you sell to someone out of state? If so, just write up some shit saying you took a trip to Arizona and sold them off. I'm not sure how legal that is but that sounds like people do that shit.

What are exit laws on California?

Again, I say. Either take this to the courts and shout and scream, or move the fuck out. Stop bitching if you'll just capitulate, because this is California. Not only is it bad now, and looked like it was going to get worse, it'll get even worse before it gets better. You did this to yourself, as unkind that sounds.
>>
>>30080931
They are also passing a law that makes it illegal to not report stolen or missing guns within 10 days.

> Can't say you don't know what happened to your guns when they stop to check in on you and ask why you haven't registered your guns.
> Can't say I lost them when my boat sank in the lake anymore...
> Can't say I sold them because they are trying to make it illegal unless you go through FFL.

>>

Don't worry about it. With how the state is pushing bills, AR owners in CA might as well take off their BB, good going CA lawmakers!
>>
do you have a yard? bury those fuckers and say they got stolen. Then one day when you move out of the hell hole, you wait til you make it to your free state. Go down to the police station make the report that they were not infact stolen, but only misplaced and you found them.
>>
>>30080947
You seem just stupid enough to get along with most Americans. Move to a hic state.
>>
>>30080875
>Basically moving would mean losing equity in my home

Dude, California is in the midst of a historic real estate bubble because of speculation by foreign investors. Move to another state and sell your property now or else you are going to lose ALL equity in the home once Cali's dysfunctional economy grinds the state to a halt.

Your politicians are advocating for anti-encryption policies that directly oppose the efforts and interests of the native tech industry. They are going to fucking pick up and leave if the likes of Dianne Feinstein and her state-level cronies get to persue their dream policies. There goes the real cash cow.

The drought problems in the state are only going to get worse. It's coming back into the arid phase of its semiarid ecosystem. Cost of living is only going to go up as the water supply will need to be offset by desalination plants. And the idiot politicians in charge are just going to keep pocketing cash and making poor decisions for the state.

Seriously, there are plenty of reasons to transfer to a less powder keg-like state for economic reasons alone. Fuck Cali. Go to a state with its head on straight, or your matched contribution isn't going to mean much.
>>
>>30080875
Matched contribution isn't some magical California exclusive thing. Any decent place will offer it.
>>
>>30080711
Jesus Christ. Almost everyone in the US lives within 2.5 miles of some kind of school. How the fuck can any human being find that law rational? I'm so sorry anon. Move somewhere else?

COLD. DEAD. FINGERS.
>>
>>30080875
What field do you work in, OP?

You could sell your house, even at a loss, and live like a King in Nevada or Utah and still have freedom. If you work tech, Utah is experiencing kind of a second tech boom. Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, and Ebay all have campuses there. Novell is HQ'd there as well.

Why don't you just bury your guns or hide them? Then get a lever action or revolver for HD in case you need to use them.

You don't have to lose this fight, and you don't have to capitulate to a shitty state like CA.
>>
>>30081375
sadly, in the end those will be illegal one way or another. the only route is either public disobedience or simply getting the fuck out of here.

Solider behind enemy lines here. Gonna be stuck here for another 6+ months until I join the Navy. Can't have the firearms here where I live and their being stored at my parents home, who are relatively anti-gun, but not enough to not store them for me. I want out of this shithole, but atm I don't have the resources to move until after my service. Any ideas?
