>Best* entrenching tool?
E-tool? In my experiences, hell no. But also and equally so, HELL YES!
I use/punish the hell out of these on the farm, and I can move dirt damn fast with the 90 degree mode swinging down between my legs like a mole. They also work great for getting cars unstuck from snow. The big shovels I normally use to clear the bulk snow can never get right down and clear ice to give the tires direct traction.
And the ~9" mine probe on the black one glides through soil like a hot knife through butter.
Everyone I know that's used or seen these in action falls in love with them. I was literally forced to have enough for the whole family or else mine kept disappearing.
Overall, the green ones are better, just in case anyone else is thinking of getting one. The axe ability is far superior and the screw for setting positions actually can fall out on the black one if you unscrew it too far. A small complaint, but it's a little annoying.

What is it? Where's it from and where do I get one?

It's a wjq-308, they're kindof spendy but worth every cent from my experience. There's demonstrations on youtube and cheesy propaganda videos too. If you buy from wjq-308.com, you get 3 years where any damage = a free replacement. I have two green ones because my dad broke the can opener on a rock, but they replaced it no questions asked so I didn't end up buying a 3rd like I thought I'd have to eventually to satisfy the family/hired help.
Also, I'm a bit of a collector anyway so I love using something from my collection. It makes normal work a lot more fun.

The one from the cheesy chink propaganda is a pretty good one. I've used a USGI one for a good number of years that I got from a surplus store. Thing is heavy as all sin, but is excellent. Dug my car out several times.

I had the wjq-308II and it was a nice shovel until I used it for cutting down trees the bolt got a nik in it and it refused to unscrew and then a small bolt broke it lasted about 2 years seeing how I used it for practically everything it did really good so after that I bought a usgi entrenching tool by ames true temper and it is a freaking beast not as many features but a true beast I recommend it and the chinese military shovels (never had a green one but would probably last longer then the wjq-308II)

Yeah, the II is definitely inferior to the normal one. The model 1 is actually built with cutting trees in mind. The II isn't at all up for the task in comparsion. The green one has a sharp edge and a heavy raised portion of axe section. The II is basically a flat shovel not really made to do stuff like that so much.
Last fall, I cut down a lot of smaller trees on field edges with my model 1, and was glad to see they were actually dead this spring.
I like this ;3
anyone have a MПЛ-50

The Coleman/Ozark ones are just fine.
