Why is /k/ against serrations?

I use the small grooves in serrations to cut my fingernails.

Serrations have their uses, I don't have a use for them so I prefer knives without them
Thin, flat ground knives are the most useful to me. I carried an opinel no8 for a while and loved it
I carry a spyderco endura aogami now because of the flat grind

the knives I carry mostly get used on packaging, string, wiring and non-bread foods. Serration does not offer me any use for those things, at least not as much as a well sharpened plain edge.
The only real negatives is it makes the regular blade harder to use, and is harder to sharpen.
Saw tooth serrations a shit though, the length you need to actually make it worthwhile is already a hand saw.
