What was the most combat effective biplane fighter in WW2?
>>30009248
fuck I'm retarded, WW1
>>30009254
Hard to say. Albatross d2 ripped the allies a new one. If you discard fokker d7, i'd say the se5a.
>>30009248
The RAFs RE5 was probably the best fighter, but it came too late to offset the buttflustering that all the german planes gave the allies theoughout the entire war.
CR. 42
>>30009326
So, you play war thunder too, amirite?
>>30009369
did i say Chaika?
>>30009394
Because chaika a shit. Marcolin chews up chaikas for breakfast. Hell, i can kill most of anything in its BR with marcolins cr42
>>30009248
The Fokker D.VII.
It was so impressive and so effective, that the confiscation of these planes was demanded in the Versailles treaty.
>>30009415
>Chaika a shit
Rude
>>30009248
well the camel ended the fokker scourge so it has to be a contender
>>30009248
Gloster Gladiator.
>>30009287
Shit man, your post remined me how much I got hooked on the roman numbers on those planes
>Albatros D2 WTF??
>Aaaw fuck, he meant the D. II
>>30009248
Interestingly, the aircraft all the british pilots wanted was the sopwith dolphin, because of it's high ceiling, it wasn't used for ground attack, so had a much lower casualty rate.
Also, would recommend reading Winged Victory if you're interested in the air war

Overall probably the Fokker DVII. Late war fighters were technically better but saw too little use.
