Look through catalog, didn't see one.
Scopes and optics general.
Question: is pic related a decent scope to put on my AR10? It's the top one 3x9x40.
Thinking about buying it when I go to the range later so I need to know soon.

I'm going for leopuld fixed power, I have an ar308 I built and it has a 3.5x35 ACOG but I need more magnification. I was thinking 12x
No need for night force etc if it's fixed power they are very sturdy.
>>
Just bought a scar 17 and now I'm sitting here wondering what the hell I'm supposed to put on top of it.
>>
I got an MTAC on ebay for roughly the same amount of cash and I love it.

If you're planning on using it as only a range/hunting rifle, then 3x9 might be ok, but if you're planning on jumping around the house at night just in case anyone might be hiding in your closet n shit, then you'll want a lower base magnification, like 1 or 1.5x to basically give you a red-dot.

Just my 2c

Anyone have a POSP or PSO-1 they'd be willing to part with for under $200? Not concerned if it's a beater or if the illumination is broken, the rifle I'm putting it on is a beat up piece of shit too. Long as it holds zero.
>>
>>30000406
It's appreciated.
Aren't there those things...not quite sure what to call it..but it acts as like a lever where you can just pull the scope to the right side and use either red dot or buis at a moments notice?
I used one on a rental the other day to pull the acog out of the way and look at just the aimpoint.
If I go that route I would either put a trijicon or an mse on there.
>>
>>30000335
They are good for the price, hard to beat if you want a variable powered optic.

>>30000358
SWFA?
>>30000395
What do you want to do with said scar 17? >>30000406
Agreed.
>>30000443
Those are kinda nigger rigged imo...

No but really I'm actually jealous. Do you feel like the price of the rifle was worth it only being able to fire an intermediate round? I have the .308 ar and I really want a scar... but I also really want something in .223.... been considering the 16s v. 17s
Also what scope is that?
>>
>>30000443
There's almost a mini-holy war going on about those things. Some people swear that they maintain zero while others say "Even if it maintains zero once, it's just another factor that can fuck up when you need it"

The jury's still out. I'd wait for at least one more generation before dropping money on one.
>>
>>30000501
They can't be so expensive that one wouldn't just be able to test it for themselves?
>>30000457
>tfw realized I'm just 50 dollars shy of the scope in op till my next paycheck due to moochers owing me money...
>>
>>30000495
It is amazing. I know people talk smack, but it is much more useful for me in 5.56 since I feel it's a more prevalent round for when shtf.

It's a Leopold VX•R Patrol 3-9x40 with the Firedot reticle. It zooms in pretty far and the red dot is pretty awesome.
>>
>>30000335
Leopolds are the Rolls Royces of scopes. Me, I'm still not convinced they're brighter or more rugged than Burris scopes are at half the price. But I'm a cheapskate.
>>
>>30000335
Get the swfa 3-9hd
>>
.308 is everywhere though.
Also, anyone have an IOR valdata for their long range stuff?

I really, really want the crusader for my .50. I'd pull the nightforce and put it on a .308. But I just cant come up with that kind of cash in 1 setting while still being able to feed my rifles.

>scope weighs 3 lbs
>almost half the weight of a Tikka.
>want.
>>
>>30000590
Why?
I'm going to look up reviews, but I'd rather hear it from a presumed owner and fellow kommando.
>>
>>30000543
You've convinced me.
Will the scope still work without electricity? Are there backup reticle?

Yup. It is motion active too, which I think is really cool. As soon as you shoulder/pick up your rifle BAM the red dot is illuminated.
I wasn't super familiar with scopes when I got it and I learned how to sight one in with the manual alone (even thought they come sighted).

No need to fret with these groupings...

I was gonna suggest the fixed 10x if I'm going with SWFA, for the price of the HD , you could get something a bit tougher, just my .02.

Does anyone have a Hi-Lux CMR? I'm looking to pick up the ak version and have heard mixed reviews on quality control and was hoping someone could share their experience with them.

Does anyone here know how easy it is to see.233 holes in black paper at 100 yards through a 4x ACOG? Shooting it for the first time on Saturday
>>
>>30001034
Buy reactive target paper
It's cheap and it has a layer underneath that shows your shots
>>
>>30001034
at 100 yards? It's not really easy but on a bright day with good eyes you might be able to see it.
A pair of cheap bino's comes in handy
