I took my nogunz friend to the range (possibly the first time he's ever held/shot a gun) and the way he was holding/gripping my guns was absolutely brutal.
He got slide bite from my fucking GLOCK, which I literally wasn't even aware was possible. I can't even begin to describe his grip, I tried to show him how to hold it but he has the dexterity of a walrus with Parkinson's and kept saying it was "too hard." He also held all my long guns gripping the stock with his armpit.

This is something you can do when operating in tight areas or doing agressive searches in houses. You get better control and it doesnt stick out as much but accuracy is pretty shit. 556 recoil is next to nil

Depends. One of the things about moving the stock over and keeping the same grip is that you can't use the back knee to support your kneeling shooting position. So it works about equally well standing but in the kneeling position it's less stable.

No they should not. SAPI style plates or swimmer's cut plates are best sized in terms of width because this is the dimension that limits movement. Whatever height you get is what you get.

That's not what I'm saying at all. Unless you're a freak of nature there are no SAPI plates that will fit you properly width wise and then be long enough to hit your thighs.
My point is the coverage around your abdomen is more or less meaningless and is a secondary concern to sizing width wise. For me a medium SAPI fits great side to side but the bottom of the plate stops an inch above my belly button. According to the person I replied to that would be incorrect, but if I went up a plate size I wouldn't be able to get a good stock weld or be able to use an isosceles stance which are a lot more important.
