Objectively no. If you want a well made old school carbine that is damn near spot on, sure. Id hold out for their 177e2, i may try to convince my dad to buy it since hes been begging for me to keep an eye out for a 177e2 like the one he carried back in the day. Found him a good sp1 clone with period correct everything that shoots great about 6 months ago. Thing looked fucking unfired like it just sat in clp in a safe for years and snagged it for 600 buckaroos. Then for fathers day i bought him an old alice lbv set and a fuck ton of stripper clips and loaders and bandoliers in the little cardboard boxes and a 3 prong flash hider to replace the bird cage if he wanted that it had on it. I love my dad.

Just looked at their site, they have a "GAU.-5/A/A" for ~1200 and it would be pretty tough to piece that together. Overall things look pretty close to original, don't know if you'll get that sling with it though. :) The pic on their site may have "real" vintage stock, grip, and hand guards so the one you get might not look that good. I recall there being a cheaper one with a regular 16" light weight barrel and a "N1" style plastic stock for ~900, I personally don't like the moderator so I would spend less on that one. As long as they're going to the trouble of making these things they should have a forward assist model too.
The trades look like ass, but the CAR design is pretty cool.

Just saw the larger picture on the bottom of that page. Hand guards are modern, stock is probably an EA stock, grip is old used A1. Port door is A2 on the inside, there are enough details that would bother me I would probably never buy one but I've got a stash of old parts I've been buying for several years now. The math probably works out ok, NDS lower 200, upper ~200, barrel ~300, stock ~170, not much room to buy the rest of the parts.
