Probably too many in my day.
>>29987703
IRP's best rations.
>>29987703
Why are MREs so goddamn expensive? Like $15 for just one? Is there any way to get them cheaper besides buying them in bulk?
>>29988008
prove it
>>29988115
>Buying in bulk
>A box of 12 street price is $70 for current year production.
Bitch they're pretty cheap for 12x 1,000-1,200 calorie meals.
>>29988115
No demand besides autists on the internet.
>>29988115
>Is there any way to get them cheaper besides buying them in bulk?
You can get one off the shelf in Utah from those ITS HAPPENING mormon shops.
it's not that bad
No. Mainly because I can't seem to get my hands on any real ones.
>>29987703
just had a beef ravioli one earlier. Missed breakfast.
>lightning within 5
>>29988815
That seems like a lot to carry with you.
Not weight-wise I mean, but in the bulkiness
I don't know you tell me
>>29988115
There was a 2$ store in my area selling them 2 for 2$ while i was away for a couple weeks for work. Came back to find out they got bought out twice by like the same guy, did their info and found out just how much money they where losing and pulled them all two days before i got back...
>>29987703
I did...
Do I willingly as a current civilian? No. Hell no.
Chef Boyardee from can is better. Except maybe I'd eat a Chilli Mac. There is a reason 9/10 vets prefer Chilli Mac.
>>29987703
I fuckin' love Rations. Wish they weren't $10 a pop in my area.
>>29987703
Do any of these even taste good? In my mind pre-packaged food thats designed to last a long time thats made of food that doesnt normally last that long seems like it would taste off/weird
>>29987703
In russia rations eat you
>>29989303
Did I hear Chili Mac? I'll trade you for a Chili Mac.....
Look man I'll blow you for a Chili Mac, alright? I've been stuck with fuckin veggie omelette for almost a week now. I'm beginning to wonder what I did for god to hate me so much.
>>29989391
Lol, me but I'll blow motherfuckers for a Meatball Marinara or Asian Beef Strip
>>29989750
I used to be like that back when they had Chicken and Dumplings.
Haven't had to suck a dick in years, though.
:(
>>29989750
>>29989391
Fajita or buffalo chicken for best MRE
veggie penn is bretty good too
>>29989206
are you the OP of the last week thread that almost died shitting because he ate rations?
>>29988815
Where and how much?
My family often vacations in the 4 Corners region, and MREs are great for picnics or tailgating after a long day of hiking.
>>29989777
Chicken fajita, BBQ Brisket, and anything with a cinnamon pop-tart.
Not anymore thankfully. I went out of my way to avoid them whenever I could.
>>29989937
>BBQ Brisket
mah nigga
>>29989779
Better than the OP who caught leprosy from eating fucking armadillo.
>>29987703
>Do I eat rations?
No. I'm not in the military, and I like being able to shit more than once a week.
>>29990571
do you have the thread saved?
Too many times. And most MREs are fucking disgusting. The civvy street ones taste better gen
>>29989937
Brisket, Pork Sausage (With Artificially Colored White Sauce), and Omelette are bad to me.
I usually have good luck with the vegetarian, pasta, and chili-type rations.
>>29988115
You don't find them in military surplus stores near your area? If you can find them at your local camping store, they should be better priced individually.
>>29989779
No I am not
is it worth trying it just once? just for the novelty of it? or does it fuck with your digestive system too much?
>>29993759
I also want to know. I figure it's worth trying at $12 a pop from Amazon.
>>29987703
>Does /k/ eat ration's?
what are you, simple?
does k eat rations....
>>29993759
>>29993976
The horror stories are exaggerated, and generally when you have been on the stuff for weeks on end.
One wont hurt you at all, unless your digestive system is a complete and utter bitch.
Go for it. Its fun to prepare the first few times, and tastes about at okayish as you would expect.
Anyone here tried XMREs? They are expensive af on amazon but I've found a decent deal on a pack of seven.
>>29987703
Why do you faggots eat this shit for fun
>>29994709
Because it tastes okay and is fun to open and prepare?
>>29994719
But it's expensive, gives you the shits, and doesn't taste as good as other food you cook cook for cheaper. Seems like autism of the military fetishist variety. But to each his own.
>>29994736
It's like $8 a pop if you buy a box. Never had MRE shits. Because I only eat 1-2 a day depending on how much I worked. Stale piss out of a skunks ass can taste good if you're tired enough. Plus they fit in a backpack well and are great for camping.
>>29994736
I can buy them at less than $5 each. Handy to have in the truck for days when I'm too rushed to pack a lunch.
>>29994736
You can get them for $5 a pop which is really not that bad, and I've never had any internal issues after eating them. The penne pasta with veggie crumbles in spicy tomato sauce one actually tasted better then some of the food at my college dining hall.
>>29987734
I love this guy.
>>29987703
Going to reserves, i got given a shitton of them every time we had field exercises.
Take them home most of the time everytime, got about 30 packs of the 24h nato mre. Experience shows that 1x24h ration usually lasts me 2-3 days with intense physical activity and no time to eat.
2 -3 months worth of rations that are labelled best before 2019. (Does vacum closed powdered milk with cereal even go bad?)
>>29993175
>Surplus store near me changed owners.
>Used to be some old vet and his wife and dog.
>Everything was great.
>New owners are some couple in their twenties.
>Kid running around the store.
>All the surplus is shoved to the corner.
>'Reloaded' bags of 9mm next to Coldsteel knives for 50 bucks for a bag of 50.
>MRE's are either 30 bucks for a meal, or the Freeze dried shit.
>Drove home and managed to fog my windows in rage.
>>29989342
Yeah some of them do taste good.
Anyone got the screencap of an Anon using a weeks supply of rations to build a fancy candlelit dinner for his girlfriend
... And then gave details of the gaseous affliction she suffered that night.
Or any of the ration after effect screencaps, really.
>>29995666

Got 4x israeli bandages, us army headlamp(very basic, black sturdy thing from the 80s maybe),
I'm also a conscript, its not illegal but frowned upon.
So i hoard this shit secretly.
I really enjoy spending time in the woods gonna do some stalker challenges this summer.
But I'm not allowed to own a private firearm while still serving, so idk which challenges to attempt.
>>29989168
>had a stack of MREs in my room at tech school
>roommate made fun of me
Next storm I was cooking chicken pesto in the shower and he was sitting there hungry.
>moral victory
>>29995688
Be happy anon, cool old couple got a nice payday and are enjoying retirement.
>>29987703
Bout 3.50
>>29995769
I miss the dog...
>tfw was in Sea Cadets in high school
>go out on night training
>got a tuna MRE, no one wanted to trade, couldn't finish it
>wasn't able to cleanly roll up my MRE to be properly stowed
>got my shit torn by the volunteering MSgt from the Marines
I was just 14
Get on my level
>>29987703
Anyone got a Ration recomindation to put in my 10 esentials day hike back for just in case? MRE seems bad if i dont want to hump a extra gallon of water too.
>>29995750
What country?
>>29994736
I'm in a nursing home, but I can get someone to take me out.
I loved the MRE's I had when my apartment was evacuated during a flood. Especially anything with Chili or Beef!
Where can I get some cheap online?
>>29994736
>>29994709
I backpack trail hike. Did 30 miles rugged over 5 days. Took a MRE with me for fun.
They're good if you don't want to build a fire or use much water to cook with. No need dirty up your only steel pot you brought.
>>29989370
WTF is that thing? This has to be faked
>>29988775
12 shitty meals for $70 is cheap? I can eat for a month on $70.
>>29995875
You're obviously still in high school. Fuck off. Sea cadets was the most autistic thing I ever did before the service
